Heroe’s Feast still active

Opening doors to the dragon. Fight. Tiziano ran out of strength. Cael starts convincing. The oth-ers except Lyria helps. Glyster saved. Moonstar family.

Unwilling to give up hoard, but will reward.

Telling the story of Vanrak. The Lords of Waterdeep ordered him arrested and he fled to Un-dermountain. Glyster tried to go after and stop him. Vanrak and the cultists were deperate and convinced Glyster to be part of a ritual to transform Vanrakdoom to the shadowfell. Vanrak failed and destroyed himself by blade.
Giving Midnight Tears
Midnight Tears (Ingested). A creature that ingests this poison suffers no effect until the stroke of midnight. If the poison has not been neutralized before then, the creature must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking 31 (9d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Glyster gives us a Pendant to Shar, valuable. Lots of coins. Electrum and silver. Bah.

In exchange for their help, Helion promises the friendship of House Moonstar, which comes with tangible benefits.

Short rest.
Glyster reluctantly let us see the hoard room. Tiziano running around opening doors and check-ing all corridors.

Descending to next floor 19. Oozy feeling. Effluvium. Eyes carved on the walls and ceiling follow us. Lyria and Cael go invisible.
Further in is a band of pirate orcs around a fireplace. Leader lady talks to us in orc. They start lobbing sylinders at us. We fight back.

There’s a broken pirate ship to the south in a big cavern. There is no treasure and it falls on top of Tiziano and Lyria. Deyrus and Bobbert strips the orcs of plate mail and burns the bodies.
Cael leads way through three water curtains before we find a huge singing fish. He asks to be called “mylord”.
Ichthyglug is a type of genie. Cael thinks Maruk?
He promises riches for a quest. Destroy a lich Ezzact and get his phylactery. Head down a floor. He needs the phylactery to leave this place.
Out of cave, stick to the left.
Going north and then left, there is more ooze and a tentacled ship. We climb it and get attacked by ballistaorcs.

Save the Dragon
Prerequisite: Complete the “Throne of the Coronal” or the “Eye of the Spider” quest
Word reaches Lady Wylynd Moonstar, matriarch of the Moonstar noble family of Waterdeep, that a party of adventurers has had some success in Undermountain of late. She learns all she can about these adventurers before sending her grand-nephew, a well-mannered half-drow named Helion Moonstar, to meet with them. Helion is Wylynd’s heir apparent, and this mission is as much a test for him as it is for the adventurers.
Lady Wylynd is well over a hundred years old and senile, but she has never forgotten the dark blemish on her family’s honor left by Vanrak Moonstar, who lorded over House Moonstar long ago. Vanrak and his small army of Shar worshipers fled into Undermountain to escape punish-ment for their many crimes in the city. It’s Lady Wylynd’s recollection that a longtime ally of the Moonstar family, a bronze dragon named Glyster, was asked or told to find Vanrak and bring him back to Waterdeep to face justice. The dragon found Vanrak but could not wrest him from the depths of Undermountain. Instead, the dragon became corrupted by Shar’s magic. In this evil form, the dragon fought by Vanrak’s side for years, even serving as his mount from time to time.

Lady Wylynd believes it’s her family’s responsibility to free the dragon from Shar’s evil grasp one way or another. She asks Helion to meet with the adventurers and convince them to find the shadow dragon in Vanrakdoom one of the deeper levels of Undermountain, and break Shar’s hold over him. Failing that, they should put the dragon out of his misery. In exchange for their help, Helion promises the friendship of House Moonstar, which comes with tangible bene-fits:
House Moonstar magic item trading (downtime activity). Housemoonstar offers any tier appro-priate items for trade (player choice) this downtime activity can only be done once per charac-ter.

New sewer-people popping in.
Lots of door checking. Mostly empty rooms apart from a vampire that was quickly killed.In one room, about to grab a golden horn from the wall, Lyria had a vision of a large room with pillars and 6 adventurers tied to them. Lyria was a dragon with necrotic breath getting to kill them in the form of the dragon Umraxal. A voice was telling them to kill the adventurers.
Corridor to the south east: Two obsidian statues, faceless women, holding two silver threads between them. Conjuration magic.
Necromantic shadow curtains cover the wall between them.
Cael steps through the curtain, then Lyria. Double door says, “The shadow is the key”. The rest steps through. The rod we found last time fits the indentation on the floor.

Tiziano found the dining room and had a vision of Vanrak, Tiziano was a dragon.
Several visions, all from the dragon’s view.
While the group are discussing visions in the corridor Deyrus checks another door and finds three vampire spawn in a room to the south. A double door leads to Gaston, a yeti and more enemies.
Raven senses the dragon further south. Through some corridors and secret doors, finding an amethyst sarcophagus. After much effort stored in Cael’s portable hole.
Dragon is behind the doors to the north.

Defeat pretend pirates/slaads at great cost. A yuan-ti joins us but don’t know anything more than me. Down the hatch a dead orog in plate hangs up side down.
More dead orog pirates downstairs. And chests and boxes.
Krash finds a mummified elven hand with two valuable rings. Elven silk, engraved box w dragon figurines.
Lyria finds 6 vials. Coins, bracelets, beholder miniature. More gold and a silk pouch w four blue pellets.

Deyrus finds the galley.
Another room with wall paintings of an elf and tentacles.
Cael ritual cast detect magic and find out some of the things we found were magic and found a small hole in the galley. Woke up snoozing hamster Munchkin behind a sending stone. Animal chat about travelling, food and sleeping. Only one person left on the ship?
Found cabins. Another dead orog with a split skull. They do not have brains and brain was not voluntarily extracted.

Front/bridge. Invisible Illithid captain. Ngathrod. Long negotiation whether we should get the helm for him and help him escape to then get the ship or just kill him. Ended up killing.
Out from the ship again, fuddling around a bit finding a dead end with a portal with an arrow on it. Continuing north through winding tunnels we find a sloping tunnel assumedly to the next floor. A side tunnel leads back to the spaceship. Checking a side nook quickly killing an ooze.
Next side tunnel has an altar to Jubilex. When opening the box behind the altar we are surprise attacked by a statue and three oozes. Cael quickly killed the statue, Tiziano split an ooze into three, took some time to be pudding them down.

Thousands of copper pieces for treasure.
Cael did some healing.

Moving south, room with pillars and lots of goo. Creatures on a ledge speaking terran to us. Boss wants to talk to us up north. We cross the goo with great difficulty, Lyria almost drowns. North tunnel to chamber with a bunch or galeb duhr/boulders and a rapping Dao.

Jarûk.
Wants us to get a phylactery from the lich on the next floor. Promise a lot of riches and three items in reward.

Clan Ironeye 6th floor.
Dragon 5th floor.
Room, tapestry, dwarven kingdom mountain, ancient.
We’re in the temple of Dumathoin. Looking for tomb of King Malair.
This floor was once a dwarven kingdom. King Malair was the leader.
After a long rest, venturing west out of the main hall. Around a couple of corners there’s an Umberhulk, who’s ruined the bottle storage.
Northwest corner guarded by two metal dwarf statues. Shrine of four deities. The statues represent the dwarven deities Moradin (god of creation), Berronar Truesilver (god of hearth and home), Clangeddin Silverbeard (god of battle), and Marthammor Duin (god of exploration). Tapered brass sylinder on the floor. Part of an instrument? Trumpet piece? Not magical.
Wide corridor south.

Fresco of dwarves throwing gems into a xorn’s mouth. Real gems in the wall, pulled out.
Wall image of a rust monster. Erik touched a rusty spike, stepped through the gate and got restrained for 24h? Small room with alchoves. Ninlar used scroll to help Eric. Eric running back, it seems we are on floor 2 with the goblin market.
Returning through gate, Lyria gets the ability to cast augury 3x without comps or fails.
South door, empty room. Doors in all directions. West door. Furniture removed. Glowing pillars. Corridor north, crushed door, pit. Across the pit, a Xorn. It says something in Terran, Eric attacks with no warning.
Xorn runs, party chasing. Eric and Ninlar killed it. Moving back south after valuables, back past portal and room with doors. Opening south door, new portal. Carved with a stylized image of a mountain with a sun above it. Struggling to open the portal.
Moving on west and south, room with pillars. Stone finds secret doors to the south. Wall opens. Panels. Sarcophagus opens as we enter. Battle axes breaks free from walls and attacks. Lyria kills most with an Ice storm. Valuable crystal panels.
Discussion about what to do, leave the panels and get the duergar to pay for them. Someone coming towards us, invisible. Halaster, casting fireball at everyone except Eric. Eric fighting Umberhulk around the corner.
Halaster turned out to be a grey thing. Two umberhulks? Ruined wall. Large room, doorway with image of a hand pouring ale from a flagon on the south.
Lyria feels treasure to the south west. No secret doors. Back to the axe tomb room. Stone finds a secret door. Lyria finds a pit trap. Stone eventually finds another secret door. Large chamber with four statues of the four dwarven deities.
Lyria hears a voice in her mind promising to aid in revealing the true treasure if the knocks over the statue to the north west. Tiziano helps, devil comes out of the statue and thanks Lyria.
Malair’s tomb. Tiziano finds no traps, opens the sarcophagi. Writing etched in silver. Adamantine warpick, shield of dumathoin (sentinel shield). Stone picks up and throws the shield to Lyria. Eric tries to stop them. Ninlar carries off Eric. Demons have crushed other statues and multiplied, cornering the party to be devoured in a month or so.

Team found a sword in the head of a dragon.
Crystal crown from cradle. Story-like item?
Treasure chamber of green dragon, polymorphed.
Looking for a bronze dragon galistae.
Lyria and Erik meet up with Cael and Tiziano. Going through a portal (opened by wings) we killed a nycoloth and saved a weird bluish guy named Oluck. Erik and Oluck continued on attacking a drow, who escaped down a corridor. Erik followed for a bit; the rest returned. No clue to what floor.
Portal effect: Once within the next 24 hours, the target can use its reaction to reduce the damage it takes from one source by 10d6.
Walked through east door, duergar south.
Exploring unexplored room, finding tools and explotions, going back to duergar.
Long tunnels to a slope, next floor.
Floor 7.
Umberhulk-dug tunnels.
Throne with blue quartz stones. Noise from a tunnel, chiseling and humming.
Giant Gravillock, chiseling stone. Semi-friendly. Family is nearby and don’t like strangers.
Exploring narrow tunnels, finding another exit upwards.
Large stone pit with more giants. Mithril spindle in the middle. Looks like a castle on top.
Exploring tunnels, back to pit w castle. Cael and Tiziano fly across with a rope. Lyria falls down climbing. Cael gets her back up with dimension door. Into castle.

Looking for a bronze dragon galistae.
Jack, Felix and Stone showed up through a portal.
Investigating room across. Stone found secret room w treasure. He mage handed the potion on top, Lyria tipped over the rest but managed to catch most of it. Chests of coins. Counting coins, taking as much as possible. Potion of Firebreath.
Moving on through the next couple of doors we have completed the circle of this floor. Explored dusty room we passed last time.
A corridor on the west side led to a stair going down.
Stone forgot to take the coin on the first door. Furnished room, a 5” bottle with a ship in it. Portrait of mad mage above. Stone and Jack carrying the bottle.
New door, no coin! Giant fiddle in the corner. Man trapped in it? Felix pushes the fiddle over and breaks it. Naked wizard, Zartem. Was drugged at dinner and trapped. Not hungry.
Maddgoth, a wizard lives here. Zartem comes with us.
Bedroom, canopy bed, chest of drawers. Smelling of charcoal. Charred corpse in the bed, not identifyable. Surroundings not firedamaged. Puff of smoke and giggling in the hallway. Can’t find anyone.
Next door, no coin, no traps. Mindflayer standing completely still, tentacles wiggling. Tiziano had mind conversation with the sword of the mind flayer. Several voices, confusion.
Zartem moves down the corridor to a door and opens it. A voice in our head says, “It was fun while it lasted”. Room, console with 3 levers (up, down and middle pos.). Brass buttons in pentagram w descriptions. “Do not press”.
Levers: Courtyard(up), light (down), heat (up), music, roof, fog, lockdown, do not press.
Fight w Zartem, hiding greatsword under the cloak. Naked wizard w greatsword?
Invisible draconic creature (Stone see it).
Naked wizard falls, revealing a grey slaad. Lyria chases the draconic form, large dragon.
Metallic clunking noise. Mechanical creature coming from North. Big metal hunk is floating in the air. Was killed.
Running after invisible dragons.
Giant fairydragon! (three) Jack kills it.
Checking room, portal, guy with torch. Lyria casts augury and gets voice in head. “I don’t think you should come through here just yet”. Recovers all spent spell slots!
Platinum coin door. Stained glass M.
Master bedroom, big creature snoring loudly. Lyria finds nothing in the wardrobe. Wands from portraits activates on Detect magic. Easy kills.
Tiziano’s sword critted.
Stairs down, one each way, choosing left.
First door silver coin, second no coin. Coin door, clean and boring storeroom.
Piles of clay bricks w auras. Lyria builds a medium chest who is a mimic. Small room w oven, further door to corridor.
Locked door with no lock.
Room in corridor with no coin. Hardwood cabinets. Metal creature. Left.
Room no coin, bathroom. Reading material. Homunculus metal creature. Stone talks to it. Opens door. Wands, orbs, stuff. Stone framed mirror decorated with yawning homunculus. Furniture made from Spellbooks, manage to free 12 between Stone and Felix.
Homunculus hands magic helmet to Stone (who hands it to Lyria, who attunes to it).
Maddgoth's Helm (story item)

creature attuned to the helm and wearing it has immunity to all damage while inside Maddgoth's castle, on its roof, or in its courtyard. If the helm is taken from the castle, it turns to dust and is destroyed.

Going south in school.
Erik appears through a door, he’s walked for days from the Giants.
Stone get told off by Halaster and failed his exam.
Erik opens a door and talks to a mindflayer. He wants the brain of Spite Harrowdale, human male. He has information about financial values in exchange.
Double doors, se golem and woman and floating brains.
More double doors. Erik opens doors and it kreeks open. Quiet room, copper tubes, labelled: Turbulence, Violence, Karstis, Yarek, Spite, Skrianna, Vacant, Cephalossk, Vacant, Nylas, Halaster, Wormriddle, Guest Lecturer.
Double doors, another set of double doors, room w cells, down to the statue, turn right (west), open door, use eyes.
Lyria checks the dragonboen statue.
Inscription: Follow the rules. Obey your instructors. Don’t be this guy.
Cael cast greater restoration. Drakthar Steelclaw. Erik makes him free the goblins. They get the directions to outside.
He cast darkvision on Cael.
Found room with bloodied curtains and a body. False wall to the north, bone devil. Erik barters for a contract.
Kill devil, Halaster appears. He is in a good mood. Stone asks about the library.
Through south door, secret door, tunnell, secret door.
Return to professor and take the other exit, double doors on …
Leading us a long way around. Erik stays behind. Stone’s room for rest? Training room w statues. Keep in mind sometimes surrender should be an option. Kitchen. Corridoor to library, do not enter unaccompanied.
Cael conversation w Halaster about dreams. Vanrakdoom? Talk to the mindflayer?
Resting in Stone’s room. Cael sends a lovely map to Erik. Stone returns for a rest, finds a note. Note to Elan from little brother? Drow house House Tanor’thal.

Meet co-student on the way out. Spite Harrowdale. We tell about the mindflayer.
Professor Wyrmriddle does transmutation.
We go back to the dead body of Yarek, and open the south door.
Portal: A stone arch embedded in the middle of the southeast wall has the image of an open book carved into its keystone.
Cael also finds a secret door.
Volcano.
Reactivating the portal, new rune. Going through all of them. Moving on through secret doors and decide to descend the stairs.

Going northeast. Spectral naga fighting yuan-ti. We are yuan-ti? Fighting Naga, Lyria coming to herself, naga dies. It was back in time, the bone naga that we killed earlier.
A mirror surrounded by interlocking gears in a dead end to the north. Another portal? There’s a rune within the portal. Rune means war?

Moving north. Lots of bullywug and frogs.
Slaad, short chat. Will not leave. Hydra comes in. Both died.
King has headband that is magical. Headband of intellect. Ninlar cast aid on Ninlar, Cael and Lyria 20 hp.
Platinum holy symbol snake with fang.
Lyria found hydra poo hole.
Return to bullywugs. Ungrateful, but gives us a jade thingy.
Akademy of wizards not far below. Nerds, they may have more knowledge of Vanrakdoom.
Ninlar tries to turn the ghost, she flies away.
Going south in circles looking for the naga. Found some undead, flesh golem and a raven on its shoulder.
Human nerd and minotaur skeleton appears. Knows about Vanrakdoom far down.
Naga tends to keep to the east.
23 floors. Vanrakdoom is not on floor 9. Below the 16th floor.
We borrow the raven to find the last naga, it’s in a hidden tunnel we avoided. Killed quickly. Statue makes a hissing noise, Stone touches it and gets to ask a question. He asks where the dragon is.

Lobby with alarm spell, waiting room. Notes on doors with “Wait here”, “W/C”. A floating arm, of Manshoon. People clean up in the bath. Halaster comes out and asks us to join the school. Stone joins. The rest are asked to clean up after a student that summoned a chain devil.
Ask for the way to Yarack.
Cael gets his scarf signed by Manshoon.
We move into the school and south, Cael gets hit by poison dart. Boy and half-ogre in a room, tells us to go further south to double doors.
Aid will last.

Sneak past troglodytes, Derus loses his backpack with a lot of noise. Trogs are distracted and we sneak on into a corridor by the river that ends in a stairway downwards. We descend to floor 11.
Elvish voices discussion having seen something, superiors.

Lots of tunnels. Troll head and limbs spread around. On closer inspection they start twitching.
Tiziano accidentally teleported into a tunnel during battle with troll limbs and troglodytes. Grappled by something mystical.
Killed troll that killed troglodytes, grapplecreature escaped.
Secret doors to temple, feels peaceful.

Altar with chest behind. There are tomes on the altar. Bottom filled with coins. Scrolls.
A muddy dagger of Venom found among guano and drow intestines.
Olucka sees a lot of drow up a tunnel, and a quicksand/swampy area. Illusions. Drow are undead, easily killed. One real drow got away w rope trick?
Dispel magic, grapple drow. Ol Thelena, House Freth.
West, false acid pool. Gateway to House Freth area, a lot of fighting there, creature does not pull a lot of people there.
Lyria asks shield about aberrations, and get directions southeast-ish. We go back to the cavern with pillars and altar. Secret door and statue of Laogzed.
Olucka found monster in one of the side rooms.
Lyria went down, greater healing potion by Derius.
Discussion about whether to move on, short rest or long rest. Tiziano wants wait in place for hours to long rest to save a healing potion. Lyria and Z are well and wants to move on. TDB next time!

Door to the south. Temple under restoration. Erik tries to deface a statue of Lolth and is paralyzed and fell down.
Through the next door is a hallway, and further a sick bay. We chase away the sick drow. Storage room next, with a tunnel up north. We go back to check the north door.
North door in hallway leads to council room-ish? Door to bed chamber, and spider room. Tunnel from here leads to some of a maze, one dead end, one tunnel to the storage room. Comes out in a gallery. A cold room with undead to the north, Lyria scares them away. Dead end w dead dwarf and magic gauntlets up north.
Tunnel back, turn further north. Empty Troglodyte lair? Come back round to where we were before, cleaning up a room of zombies eating dead bodies. Moving back further north looking for the “Apprentice” creature. (Muriel)

Altar, two hook horror statues beside the dais, mirror carved to look like Halaster. “Flattery will get you everywhere”. Erik flatters the mirror and a gate opens to a corridor. Erik steps in, and ends up in a shaft, falling 60 ft.
Exploring quarters to the north. Mirror gate with Etched into the bottom of the mirror’s stone frame are the letters T-U-O-Y-A-W.
North, end room with statue. Touch to teleport. Statues in love.
Big room with floor of skulls. Skulls crushing when walking on them. Investigating door to the south. Large room with pillars, and two large drow creatures. In the next room, a Statue of Eilistrae should be holding something. A sword?
Following corridor east and north. Circling around to the large skull room, there are lifelike statues of drow warriors.

The opposite door leads to a large exercise room with a large mirror (gate) to the north. Four dead dwarves in a half circle. Lump in the chest or one appears to be a big emerald with a small imperfection in it shaped like a spider. Worth a decent bit.

Retrieve a Runestone Fragment
Volothamp Geddarm introduces the characters to a friend of his: a young captain of the City Watch named Jalester Silvermane.
Jalester tells the characters that he wants a fragment of the Runestone saying its recovery will help to ensure Waterdeep’s security. He describes the Runestone as a large, glowing, disk-shaped gem with Halaster’s rune floating in it. It was created by Halasar and secreted away in the depths of Undermountain
He does not mention a monetary reward for delivering a Runestone fragment to him; instead, Jalester offers the characters his lasting friendship—which can bring many benefits, considering his position in the City Watch.

They can offer a potion of surpreme healing. Leader has some gloves that are valuable.
Coming from south west.
First encounter troll with abcesses that expelled insect swarms. Lots of drow combat below, Zress (sister or daughter of Erik’s sparring companion?). Some friendly drow, some chasme, hezrou, lots of unfriendly drow.
Long battle.
Some back and forth about letting Zress live or not, ending up keeping her alive. Erik gives her to the drow.

Heroe’s Feast still active

Opening doors to the dragon. Fight. Tiziano ran out of strength. Cael starts convincing. The oth-ers except Lyria helps. Glyster saved. Moonstar family.

Unwilling to give up hoard, but will reward.

Telling the story of Vanrak. The Lords of Waterdeep ordered him arrested and he fled to Un-dermountain. Glyster tried to go after and stop him. Vanrak and the cultists were deperate and convinced Glyster to be part of a ritual to transform Vanrakdoom to the shadowfell. Vanrak failed and destroyed himself by blade.
Giving Midnight Tears
Midnight Tears (Ingested). A creature that ingests this poison suffers no effect until the stroke of midnight. If the poison has not been neutralized before then, the creature must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking 31 (9d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Glyster gives us a Pendant to Shar, valuable. Lots of coins. Electrum and silver. Bah.

Short rest.
Glyster reluctantly let us see the hoard room. Tiziano running around opening doors and check-ing all corridors.

Descending to next floor 19. Oozy feeling. Effluvium. Eyes carved on the walls and ceiling follow us. Lyria and Cael go invisible.
Further in is a band of pirate orcs around a fireplace. Leader lady talks to us in orc. They start lobbing sylinders at us. We fight back.

There’s a broken pirate ship to the south in a big cavern. There is no treasure and it falls on top of Tiziano and Lyria. Deyrus and Bobbert strips the orcs of plate mail and burns the bodies.
Cael leads way through three water curtains before we find a huge singing fish. He asks to be called “mylord”.
Ichthyglug is a type of genie. Cael thinks Maruk?
He promises riches for a quest. Destroy a lich Ezzact and get his phylactery. Head down a floor. He needs the phylactery to leave this place.
Out of cave, stick to the left.
Going north and then left, there is more ooze and a tentacled ship. We climb it and get attacked by ballistaorcs.

Save the Dragon
Prerequisite: Complete the “Throne of the Coronal” or the “Eye of the Spider” quest
Word reaches Lady Wylynd Moonstar, matriarch of the Moonstar noble family of Waterdeep, that a party of adventurers has had some success in Undermountain of late. She learns all she can about these adventurers before sending her grand-nephew, a well-mannered half-drow named Helion Moonstar, to meet with them. Helion is Wylynd’s heir apparent, and this mission is as much a test for him as it is for the adventurers.
Lady Wylynd is well over a hundred years old and senile, but she has never forgotten the dark blemish on her family’s honor left by Vanrak Moonstar, who lorded over House Moonstar long ago. Vanrak and his small army of Shar worshipers fled into Undermountain to escape punish-ment for their many crimes in the city. It’s Lady Wylynd’s recollection that a longtime ally of the Moonstar family, a bronze dragon named Glyster, was asked or told to find Vanrak and bring him back to Waterdeep to face justice. The dragon found Vanrak but could not wrest him from the depths of Undermountain. Instead, the dragon became corrupted by Shar’s magic. In this evil form, the dragon fought by Vanrak’s side for years, even serving as his mount from time to time.

Lady Wylynd believes it’s her family’s responsibility to free the dragon from Shar’s evil grasp one way or another. She asks Helion to meet with the adventurers and convince them to find the shadow dragon in Vanrakdoom one of the deeper levels of Undermountain, and break Shar’s hold over him. Failing that, they should put the dragon out of his misery. In exchange for their help, Helion promises the friendship of House Moonstar, which comes with tangible bene-fits:
House Moonstar magic item trading (downtime activity). Housemoonstar offers any tier appro-priate items for trade (player choice) this downtime activity can only be done once per charac-ter.

New sewer-people popping in.
Lots of door checking. Mostly empty rooms apart from a vampire that was quickly killed.In one room, about to grab a golden horn from the wall, Lyria had a vision of a large room with pillars and 6 adventurers tied to them. Lyria was a dragon with necrotic breath getting to kill them in the form of the dragon Umraxal. A voice was telling them to kill the adventurers.
Corridor to the south east: Two obsidian statues, faceless women, holding two silver threads between them. Conjuration magic.
Necromantic shadow curtains cover the wall between them.
Cael steps through the curtain, then Lyria. Double door says, “The shadow is the key”. The rest steps through. The rod we found last time fits the indentation on the floor.

Tiziano found the dining room and had a vision of Vanrak, Tiziano was a dragon.
Several visions, all from the dragon’s view.
While the group are discussing visions in the corridor Deyrus checks another door and finds three vampire spawn in a room to the south. A double door leads to Gaston, a yeti and more enemies.
Raven senses the dragon further south. Through some corridors and secret doors, finding an amethyst sarcophagus. After much effort stored in Cael’s portable hole.
Dragon is behind the doors to the north.

Defeat pretend pirates/slaads at great cost. A yuan-ti joins us but don’t know anything more than me. Down the hatch a dead orog in plate hangs up side down.
More dead orog pirates downstairs. And chests and boxes.
Krash finds a mummified elven hand with two valuable rings. Elven silk, engraved box w dragon figurines.
Lyria finds 6 vials. Coins, bracelets, beholder miniature. More gold and a silk pouch w four blue pellets.

Deyrus finds the galley.
Another room with wall paintings of an elf and tentacles.
Cael ritual cast detect magic and find out some of the things we found were magic and found a small hole in the galley. Woke up snoozing hamster Munchkin behind a sending stone. Animal chat about travelling, food and sleeping. Only one person left on the ship?
Found cabins. Another dead orog with a split skull. They do not have brains and brain was not voluntarily extracted.

Front/bridge. Invisible Illithid captain. Ngathrod. Long negotiation whether we should get the helm for him and help him escape to then get the ship or just kill him. Ended up killing.
Out from the ship again, fuddling around a bit finding a dead end with a portal with an arrow on it. Continuing north through winding tunnels we find a sloping tunnel assumedly to the next floor. A side tunnel leads back to the spaceship. Checking a side nook quickly killing an ooze.
Next side tunnel has an altar to Jubilex. When opening the box behind the altar we are surprise attacked by a statue and three oozes. Cael quickly killed the statue, Tiziano split an ooze into three, took some time to be pudding them down.

Thousands of copper pieces for treasure.
Cael did some healing.

Moving south, room with pillars and lots of goo. Creatures on a ledge speaking terran to us. Boss wants to talk to us up north. We cross the goo with great difficulty, Lyria almost drowns. North tunnel to chamber with a bunch or galeb duhr/boulders and a rapping Dao.

Jarûk.
Wants us to get a phylactery from the lich on the next floor. Promise a lot of riches and three items in reward.

Room, tapestry, dwarven kingdom mountain, ancient.
We’re in the temple of Dumathoin. Looking for tomb of King Malair.
This floor was once a dwarven kingdom. King Malair was the leader.
After a long rest, venturing west out of the main hall. Around a couple of corners there’s an Umberhulk, who’s ruined the bottle storage.
Northwest corner guarded by two metal dwarf statues. Shrine of four deities. The statues represent the dwarven deities Moradin (god of creation), Berronar Truesilver (god of hearth and home), Clangeddin Silverbeard (god of battle), and Marthammor Duin (god of exploration). Tapered brass sylinder on the floor. Part of an instrument? Trumpet piece? Not magical.
Wide corridor south.

Fresco of dwarves throwing gems into a xorn’s mouth. Real gems in the wall, pulled out.
Wall image of a rust monster. Erik touched a rusty spike, stepped through the gate and got restrained for 24h? Small room with alchoves. Ninlar used scroll to help Eric. Eric running back, it seems we are on floor 2 with the goblin market.
Returning through gate, Lyria gets the ability to cast augury 3x without comps or fails.
South door, empty room. Doors in all directions. West door. Furniture removed. Glowing pillars. Corridor north, crushed door, pit. Across the pit, a Xorn. It says something in Terran, Eric attacks with no warning.
Xorn runs, party chasing. Eric and Ninlar killed it. Moving back south after valuables, back past portal and room with doors. Opening south door, new portal. Carved with a stylized image of a mountain with a sun above it. Struggling to open the portal.
Moving on west and south, room with pillars. Stone finds secret doors to the south. Wall opens. Panels. Sarcophagus opens as we enter. Battle axes breaks free from walls and attacks. Lyria kills most with an Ice storm. Valuable crystal panels.
Discussion about what to do, leave the panels and get the duergar to pay for them. Someone coming towards us, invisible. Halaster, casting fireball at everyone except Eric. Eric fighting Umberhulk around the corner.
Halaster turned out to be a grey thing. Two umberhulks? Ruined wall. Large room, doorway with image of a hand pouring ale from a flagon on the south.
Lyria feels treasure to the south west. No secret doors. Back to the axe tomb room. Stone finds a secret door. Lyria finds a pit trap. Stone eventually finds another secret door. Large chamber with four statues of the four dwarven deities.
Lyria hears a voice in her mind promising to aid in revealing the true treasure if the knocks over the statue to the north west. Tiziano helps, devil comes out of the statue and thanks Lyria.
Malair’s tomb. Tiziano finds no traps, opens the sarcophagi. Writing etched in silver. Adamantine warpick, shield of dumathoin (sentinel shield). Stone picks up and throws the shield to Lyria. Eric tries to stop them. Ninlar carries off Eric. Demons have crushed other statues and multiplied, cornering the party to be devoured in a month or so.

Lyria and Erik meet up with Cael and Tiziano. Going through a portal (opened by wings) we killed a nycoloth and saved a weird bluish guy named Oluck. Erik and Oluck continued on attacking a drow, who escaped down a corridor. Erik followed for a bit; the rest returned. No clue to what floor.

Walked through east door, duergar south.
Exploring unexplored room, finding tools and explotions, going back to duergar.

Looking for a bronze dragon galistae.
Jack, Felix and Stone showed up through a portal.
Investigating room across. Stone found secret room w treasure. He mage handed the potion on top, Lyria tipped over the rest but managed to catch most of it. Chests of coins. Counting coins, taking as much as possible. Potion of Firebreath.
Moving on through the next couple of doors we have completed the circle of this floor. Explored dusty room we passed last time.
A corridor on the west side led to a stair going down.
Stone forgot to take the coin on the first door. Furnished room, a 5” bottle with a ship in it. Portrait of mad mage above. Stone and Jack carrying the bottle.
New door, no coin! Giant fiddle in the corner. Man trapped in it? Felix pushes the fiddle over and breaks it. Naked wizard, Zartem. Was drugged at dinner and trapped. Not hungry.
Maddgoth, a wizard lives here. Zartem comes with us.
Bedroom, canopy bed, chest of drawers. Smelling of charcoal. Charred corpse in the bed, not identifyable. Surroundings not firedamaged. Puff of smoke and giggling in the hallway. Can’t find anyone.
Next door, no coin, no traps. Mindflayer standing completely still, tentacles wiggling. Tiziano had mind conversation with the sword of the mind flayer. Several voices, confusion.
Zartem moves down the corridor to a door and opens it. A voice in our head says, “It was fun while it lasted”. Room, console with 3 levers (up, down and middle pos.). Brass buttons in pentagram w descriptions. “Do not press”.
Levers: Courtyard(up), light (down), heat (up), music, roof, fog, lockdown, do not press.
Fight w Zartem, hiding greatsword under the cloak. Naked wizard w greatsword?
Invisible draconic creature (Stone see it).
Naked wizard falls, revealing a grey slaad. Lyria chases the draconic form, large dragon.
Metallic clunking noise. Mechanical creature coming from North. Big metal hunk is floating in the air. Was killed.
Running after invisible dragons.
Giant fairydragon! (three) Jack kills it.
Checking room, portal, guy with torch. Lyria casts augury and gets voice in head. “I don’t think you should come through here just yet”. Recovers all spent spell slots!
Platinum coin door. Stained glass M.
Master bedroom, big creature snoring loudly. Lyria finds nothing in the wardrobe. Wands from portraits activates on Detect magic. Easy kills.
Tiziano’s sword critted.
Stairs down, one each way, choosing left.
First door silver coin, second no coin. Coin door, clean and boring storeroom.
Piles of clay bricks w auras. Lyria builds a medium chest who is a mimic. Small room w oven, further door to corridor.
Locked door with no lock.
Room in corridor with no coin. Hardwood cabinets. Metal creature. Left.
Room no coin, bathroom. Reading material. Homunculus metal creature. Stone talks to it. Opens door. Wands, orbs, stuff. Stone framed mirror decorated with yawning homunculus. Furniture made from Spellbooks, manage to free 12 between Stone and Felix.
Homunculus hands magic helmet to Stone (who hands it to Lyria, who attunes to it).
Maddgoth's Helm (story item)

Going south in school.
Erik appears through a door, he’s walked for days from the Giants.
Stone get told off by Halaster and failed his exam.
Erik opens a door and talks to a mindflayer. He wants the brain of Spite Harrowdale, human male. He has information about financial values in exchange.
Double doors, se golem and woman and floating brains.
More double doors. Erik opens doors and it kreeks open. Quiet room, copper tubes, labelled: Turbulence, Violence, Karstis, Yarek, Spite, Skrianna, Vacant, Cephalossk, Vacant, Nylas, Halaster, Wormriddle, Guest Lecturer.
Double doors, another set of double doors, room w cells, down to the statue, turn right (west), open door, use eyes.
Lyria checks the dragonboen statue.
Inscription: Follow the rules. Obey your instructors. Don’t be this guy.
Cael cast greater restoration. Drakthar Steelclaw. Erik makes him free the goblins. They get the directions to outside.
He cast darkvision on Cael.
Found room with bloodied curtains and a body. False wall to the north, bone devil. Erik barters for a contract.
Kill devil, Halaster appears. He is in a good mood. Stone asks about the library.
Through south door, secret door, tunnell, secret door.
Return to professor and take the other exit, double doors on …
Leading us a long way around. Erik stays behind. Stone’s room for rest? Training room w statues. Keep in mind sometimes surrender should be an option. Kitchen. Corridoor to library, do not enter unaccompanied.
Cael conversation w Halaster about dreams. Vanrakdoom? Talk to the mindflayer?
Resting in Stone’s room. Cael sends a lovely map to Erik. Stone returns for a rest, finds a note. Note to Elan from little brother? Drow house House Tanor’thal.

Meet co-student on the way out. Spite Harrowdale. We tell about the mindflayer.
Professor Wyrmriddle does transmutation.
We go back to the dead body of Yarek, and open the south door.
Portal: A stone arch embedded in the middle of the southeast wall has the image of an open book carved into its keystone.
Cael also finds a secret door.

Reactivating the portal, new rune. Going through all of them. Moving on through secret doors and decide to descend the stairs.

Baine goes down a slope in a bucket, rope snaps, falls down into the swamp on Ninlar.
We’re going to kill the bullywug slaad kind.
Going northeast. Spectral naga fighting yuan-ti. We are yuan-ti? Fighting Naga, Lyria coming to herself, naga dies. It was back in time, the bone naga that we killed earlier.
A mirror surrounded by interlocking gears in a dead end to the north. Another portal? There’s a rune within the portal. Rune means war?

Moving north. Lots of bullywug and frogs.
Slaad, short chat. Will not leave. Hydra comes in. Both died.
King has headband that is magical. Headband of intellect. Ninlar cast aid on Ninlar, Cael and Lyria 20 hp.
Platinum holy symbol snake with fang.
Lyria found hydra poo hole.
Return to bullywugs. Ungrateful, but gives us a jade thingy.
Akademy of wizards not far below. Nerds, they may have more knowledge of Vanrakdoom.
Ninlar tries to turn the ghost, she flies away.
Going south in circles looking for the naga. Found some undead, flesh golem and a raven on its shoulder.
Human nerd and minotaur skeleton appears. Knows about Vanrakdoom far down.
Naga tends to keep to the east.
23 floors. Vanrakdoom is not on floor 9. Below the 16th floor.
We borrow the raven to find the last naga, it’s in a hidden tunnel we avoided. Killed quickly. Statue makes a hissing noise, Stone touches it and gets to ask a question. He asks where the dragon is.
“Beyond where a mind can survive unprotected where you may face Waterdeep once more. “
We’re on LEVEL 9!
Lobby with alarm spell, waiting room. Notes on doors with “Wait here”, “W/C”. A floating arm, of Manshoon. People clean up in the bath. Halaster comes out and asks us to join the school. Stone joins. The rest are asked to clean up after a student that summoned a chain devil.
Ask for the way to Yarack.
Cael gets his scarf signed by Manshoon.
We move into the school and south, Cael gets hit by poison dart. Boy and half-ogre in a room, tells us to go further south to double doors.
Aid will last.

Sneak past troglodytes, Derus loses his backpack with a lot of noise. Trogs are distracted and we sneak on into a corridor by the river that ends in a stairway downwards. We descend to floor 11.
Elvish voices discussion having seen something, superiors.
Drow fight.
Ventred, Obsidian scarab w symbol of house Ayvrundar (spider baby people).

Lots of tunnels. Troll head and limbs spread around. On closer inspection they start twitching.
Tiziano accidentally teleported into a tunnel during battle with troll limbs and troglodytes. Grappled by something mystical.
Killed troll that killed troglodytes, grapplecreature escaped.
Secret doors to temple, feels peaceful.
Balhanoth?
Altar with chest behind. There are tomes on the altar. Bottom filled with coins. Scrolls.
A muddy dagger of Venom found among guano and drow intestines.
Olucka sees a lot of drow up a tunnel, and a quicksand/swampy area. Illusions. Drow are undead, easily killed. One real drow got away w rope trick?
Dispel magic, grapple drow. Ol Thelena, House Freth.
West, false acid pool. Gateway to House Freth area, a lot of fighting there, creature does not pull a lot of people there.
Lyria asks shield about aberrations, and get directions southeast-ish. We go back to the cavern with pillars and altar. Secret door and statue of Laogzed.
Olucka found monster in one of the side rooms.
Lyria went down, greater healing potion by Derius.
Discussion about whether to move on, short rest or long rest. Tiziano wants wait in place for hours to long rest to save a healing potion. Lyria and Z are well and wants to move on. TDB next time!

Door to the south. Temple under restoration. Erik tries to deface a statue of Lolth and is paralyzed and fell down.
Through the next door is a hallway, and further a sick bay. We chase away the sick drow. Storage room next, with a tunnel up north. We go back to check the north door.
North door in hallway leads to council room-ish? Door to bed chamber, and spider room. Tunnel from here leads to some of a maze, one dead end, one tunnel to the storage room. Comes out in a gallery. A cold room with undead to the north, Lyria scares them away. Dead end w dead dwarf and magic gauntlets up north.
Tunnel back, turn further north. Empty Troglodyte lair? Come back round to where we were before, cleaning up a room of zombies eating dead bodies. Moving back further north looking for the “Apprentice” creature. (Muriel)

Altar, two hook horror statues beside the dais, mirror carved to look like Halaster. “Flattery will get you everywhere”. Erik flatters the mirror and a gate opens to a corridor. Erik steps in, and ends up in a shaft, falling 60 ft.
Exploring quarters to the north. Mirror gate with Etched into the bottom of the mirror’s stone frame are the letters T-U-O-Y-A-W.
North, end room with statue. Touch to teleport. Statues in love.
Big room with floor of skulls. Skulls crushing when walking on them. Investigating door to the south. Large room with pillars, and two large drow creatures. In the next room, a Statue of Eilistrae should be holding something. A sword?
Following corridor east and north. Circling around to the large skull room, there are lifelike statues of drow warriors.

The opposite door leads to a large exercise room with a large mirror (gate) to the north. Four dead dwarves in a half circle. Lump in the chest or one appears to be a big emerald with a small imperfection in it shaped like a spider. Worth a decent bit.

Retrieve a Runestone Fragment
Volothamp Geddarm introduces the characters to a friend of his: a young captain of the City Watch named Jalester Silvermane.
Jalester tells the characters that he wants a fragment of the Runestone saying its recovery will help to ensure Waterdeep’s security. He describes the Runestone as a large, glowing, disk-shaped gem with Halaster’s rune floating in it. It was created by Halasar and secreted away in the depths of Undermountain
He does not mention a monetary reward for delivering a Runestone fragment to him; instead, Jalester offers the characters his lasting friendship—which can bring many benefits, considering his position in the City Watch.

They can offer a potion of surpreme healing. Leader has some gloves that are valuable.
Coming from south west.
First encounter troll with abcesses that expelled insect swarms. Lots of drow combat below, Zress (sister or daughter of Erik’s sparring companion?). Some friendly drow, some chasme, hezrou, lots of unfriendly drow.
Long battle.
Some back and forth about letting Zress live or not, ending up keeping her alive. Erik gives her to the drow.
Potion of Surpreme healing.

Erik got some poison, 20 doses shared within the party as a story item.
Drow Poison (Injury). This poison is typically made only by the drow, and only in a place far removed from sunlight. A creature subjected to this poison must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is also unconscious while poisoned in this way. The creature wakes up if it takes damage or if another creature takes an action to shake it awake.

Heroe’s Feast still active

Opening doors to the dragon. Fight. Tiziano ran out of strength. Cael starts convincing. The oth-ers except Lyria helps. Glyster saved. Moonstar family.

Unwilling to give up hoard, but will reward.

Telling the story of Vanrak. The Lords of Waterdeep ordered him arrested and he fled to Un-dermountain. Glyster tried to go after and stop him. Vanrak and the cultists were deperate and convinced Glyster to be part of a ritual to transform Vanrakdoom to the shadowfell. Vanrak failed and destroyed himself by blade.
Giving Midnight Tears
Midnight Tears (Ingested). A creature that ingests this poison suffers no effect until the stroke of midnight. If the poison has not been neutralized before then, the creature must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking 31 (9d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Glyster gives us a Pendant to Shar, valuable. Lots of coins. Electrum and silver. Bah.

Short rest.
Glyster reluctantly let us see the hoard room. Tiziano running around opening doors and check-ing all corridors.

Descending to next floor 19. Oozy feeling. Effluvium. Eyes carved on the walls and ceiling follow us. Lyria and Cael go invisible.
Further in is a band of pirate orcs around a fireplace. Leader lady talks to us in orc. They start lobbing sylinders at us. We fight back.

There’s a broken pirate ship to the south in a big cavern. There is no treasure and it falls on top of Tiziano and Lyria. Deyrus and Bobbert strips the orcs of plate mail and burns the bodies.
Cael leads way through three water curtains before we find a huge singing fish. He asks to be called “mylord”.
Ichthyglug is a type of genie. Cael thinks Maruk?
He promises riches for a quest. Destroy a lich Ezzact and get his phylactery. Head down a floor. He needs the phylactery to leave this place.
Out of cave, stick to the left.
Going north and then left, there is more ooze and a tentacled ship. We climb it and get attacked by ballistaorcs.

Save the Dragon
Prerequisite: Complete the “Throne of the Coronal” or the “Eye of the Spider” quest
Word reaches Lady Wylynd Moonstar, matriarch of the Moonstar noble family of Waterdeep, that a party of adventurers has had some success in Undermountain of late. She learns all she can about these adventurers before sending her grand-nephew, a well-mannered half-drow named Helion Moonstar, to meet with them. Helion is Wylynd’s heir apparent, and this mission is as much a test for him as it is for the adventurers.
Lady Wylynd is well over a hundred years old and senile, but she has never forgotten the dark blemish on her family’s honor left by Vanrak Moonstar, who lorded over House Moonstar long ago. Vanrak and his small army of Shar worshipers fled into Undermountain to escape punish-ment for their many crimes in the city. It’s Lady Wylynd’s recollection that a longtime ally of the Moonstar family, a bronze dragon named Glyster, was asked or told to find Vanrak and bring him back to Waterdeep to face justice. The dragon found Vanrak but could not wrest him from the depths of Undermountain. Instead, the dragon became corrupted by Shar’s magic. In this evil form, the dragon fought by Vanrak’s side for years, even serving as his mount from time to time.

Lady Wylynd believes it’s her family’s responsibility to free the dragon from Shar’s evil grasp one way or another. She asks Helion to meet with the adventurers and convince them to find the shadow dragon in Vanrakdoom one of the deeper levels of Undermountain, and break Shar’s hold over him. Failing that, they should put the dragon out of his misery. In exchange for their help, Helion promises the friendship of House Moonstar, which comes with tangible bene-fits:
House Moonstar magic item trading (downtime activity). Housemoonstar offers any tier appro-priate items for trade (player choice) this downtime activity can only be done once per charac-ter.

New sewer-people popping in.
Lots of door checking. Mostly empty rooms apart from a vampire that was quickly killed.In one room, about to grab a golden horn from the wall, Lyria had a vision of a large room with pillars and 6 adventurers tied to them. Lyria was a dragon with necrotic breath getting to kill them in the form of the dragon Umraxal. A voice was telling them to kill the adventurers.
Corridor to the south east: Two obsidian statues, faceless women, holding two silver threads between them. Conjuration magic.
Necromantic shadow curtains cover the wall between them.
Cael steps through the curtain, then Lyria. Double door says, “The shadow is the key”. The rest steps through. The rod we found last time fits the indentation on the floor.

Tiziano found the dining room and had a vision of Vanrak, Tiziano was a dragon.
Several visions, all from the dragon’s view.
While the group are discussing visions in the corridor Deyrus checks another door and finds three vampire spawn in a room to the south. A double door leads to Gaston, a yeti and more enemies.
Raven senses the dragon further south. Through some corridors and secret doors, finding an amethyst sarcophagus. After much effort stored in Cael’s portable hole.
Dragon is behind the doors to the north.

Defeat pretend pirates/slaads at great cost. A yuan-ti joins us but don’t know anything more than me. Down the hatch a dead orog in plate hangs up side down.
More dead orog pirates downstairs. And chests and boxes.
Krash finds a mummified elven hand with two valuable rings. Elven silk, engraved box w dragon figurines.
Lyria finds 6 vials. Coins, bracelets, beholder miniature. More gold and a silk pouch w four blue pellets.

Deyrus finds the galley.
Another room with wall paintings of an elf and tentacles.
Cael ritual cast detect magic and find out some of the things we found were magic and found a small hole in the galley. Woke up snoozing hamster Munchkin behind a sending stone. Animal chat about travelling, food and sleeping. Only one person left on the ship?
Found cabins. Another dead orog with a split skull. They do not have brains and brain was not voluntarily extracted.

Front/bridge. Invisible Illithid captain. Ngathrod. Long negotiation whether we should get the helm for him and help him escape to then get the ship or just kill him. Ended up killing.
Out from the ship again, fuddling around a bit finding a dead end with a portal with an arrow on it. Continuing north through winding tunnels we find a sloping tunnel assumedly to the next floor. A side tunnel leads back to the spaceship. Checking a side nook quickly killing an ooze.
Next side tunnel has an altar to Jubilex. When opening the box behind the altar we are surprise attacked by a statue and three oozes. Cael quickly killed the statue, Tiziano split an ooze into three, took some time to be pudding them down.

Thousands of copper pieces for treasure.
Cael did some healing.

Moving south, room with pillars and lots of goo. Creatures on a ledge speaking terran to us. Boss wants to talk to us up north. We cross the goo with great difficulty, Lyria almost drowns. North tunnel to chamber with a bunch or galeb duhr/boulders and a rapping Dao.

Jarûk.
Wants us to get a phylactery from the lich on the next floor. Promise a lot of riches and three items in reward.

Room, tapestry, dwarven kingdom mountain, ancient.
We’re in the temple of Dumathoin. Looking for tomb of King Malair.
This floor was once a dwarven kingdom. King Malair was the leader.
After a long rest, venturing west out of the main hall. Around a couple of corners there’s an Umberhulk, who’s ruined the bottle storage.
Northwest corner guarded by two metal dwarf statues. Shrine of four deities. The statues represent the dwarven deities Moradin (god of creation), Berronar Truesilver (god of hearth and home), Clangeddin Silverbeard (god of battle), and Marthammor Duin (god of exploration). Tapered brass sylinder on the floor. Part of an instrument? Trumpet piece? Not magical.
Wide corridor south.

Fresco of dwarves throwing gems into a xorn’s mouth. Real gems in the wall, pulled out.
Wall image of a rust monster. Erik touched a rusty spike, stepped through the gate and got restrained for 24h? Small room with alchoves. Ninlar used scroll to help Eric. Eric running back, it seems we are on floor 2 with the goblin market.
Returning through gate, Lyria gets the ability to cast augury 3x without comps or fails.
South door, empty room. Doors in all directions. West door. Furniture removed. Glowing pillars. Corridor north, crushed door, pit. Across the pit, a Xorn. It says something in Terran, Eric attacks with no warning.
Xorn runs, party chasing. Eric and Ninlar killed it. Moving back south after valuables, back past portal and room with doors. Opening south door, new portal. Carved with a stylized image of a mountain with a sun above it. Struggling to open the portal.
Moving on west and south, room with pillars. Stone finds secret doors to the south. Wall opens. Panels. Sarcophagus opens as we enter. Battle axes breaks free from walls and attacks. Lyria kills most with an Ice storm. Valuable crystal panels.
Discussion about what to do, leave the panels and get the duergar to pay for them. Someone coming towards us, invisible. Halaster, casting fireball at everyone except Eric. Eric fighting Umberhulk around the corner.
Halaster turned out to be a grey thing. Two umberhulks? Ruined wall. Large room, doorway with image of a hand pouring ale from a flagon on the south.
Lyria feels treasure to the south west. No secret doors. Back to the axe tomb room. Stone finds a secret door. Lyria finds a pit trap. Stone eventually finds another secret door. Large chamber with four statues of the four dwarven deities.
Lyria hears a voice in her mind promising to aid in revealing the true treasure if the knocks over the statue to the north west. Tiziano helps, devil comes out of the statue and thanks Lyria.
Malair’s tomb. Tiziano finds no traps, opens the sarcophagi. Writing etched in silver. Adamantine warpick, shield of dumathoin (sentinel shield). Stone picks up and throws the shield to Lyria. Eric tries to stop them. Ninlar carries off Eric. Demons have crushed other statues and multiplied, cornering the party to be devoured in a month or so.

Team found a sword in the head of a dragon.

Treasure chamber of green dragon, polymorphed.
Looking for a bronze dragon galistae.
Lyria and Erik meet up with Cael and Tiziano. Going through a portal (opened by wings) we killed a nycoloth and saved a weird bluish guy named Oluck. Erik and Oluck continued on attacking a drow, who escaped down a corridor. Erik followed for a bit; the rest returned. No clue to what floor.
Portal effect: Once within the next 24 hours, the target can use its reaction to reduce the damage it takes from one source by 10d6.
Walked through east door, duergar south.
Exploring unexplored room, finding tools and explotions, going back to duergar.
Long tunnels to a slope, next floor.
Floor 7.
Umberhulk-dug tunnels.
Throne with blue quartz stones. Noise from a tunnel, chiseling and humming.
Giant Gravillock, chiseling stone. Semi-friendly. Family is nearby and don’t like strangers.
Exploring narrow tunnels, finding another exit upwards.
Large stone pit with more giants. Mithril spindle in the middle. Looks like a castle on top.

Looking for a bronze dragon galistae.
Jack, Felix and Stone showed up through a portal.
Investigating room across. Stone found secret room w treasure. He mage handed the potion on top, Lyria tipped over the rest but managed to catch most of it. Chests of coins. Counting coins, taking as much as possible. Potion of Firebreath.
Moving on through the next couple of doors we have completed the circle of this floor. Explored dusty room we passed last time.
A corridor on the west side led to a stair going down.
Stone forgot to take the coin on the first door. Furnished room, a 5” bottle with a ship in it. Portrait of mad mage above. Stone and Jack carrying the bottle.
New door, no coin! Giant fiddle in the corner. Man trapped in it? Felix pushes the fiddle over and breaks it. Naked wizard, Zartem. Was drugged at dinner and trapped. Not hungry.
Maddgoth, a wizard lives here. Zartem comes with us.
Bedroom, canopy bed, chest of drawers. Smelling of charcoal. Charred corpse in the bed, not identifyable. Surroundings not firedamaged. Puff of smoke and giggling in the hallway. Can’t find anyone.
Next door, no coin, no traps. Mindflayer standing completely still, tentacles wiggling. Tiziano had mind conversation with the sword of the mind flayer. Several voices, confusion.
Zartem moves down the corridor to a door and opens it. A voice in our head says, “It was fun while it lasted”. Room, console with 3 levers (up, down and middle pos.). Brass buttons in pentagram w descriptions. “Do not press”.
Levers: Courtyard(up), light (down), heat (up), music, roof, fog, lockdown, do not press.
Fight w Zartem, hiding greatsword under the cloak. Naked wizard w greatsword?
Invisible draconic creature (Stone see it).
Naked wizard falls, revealing a grey slaad. Lyria chases the draconic form, large dragon.
Metallic clunking noise. Mechanical creature coming from North. Big metal hunk is floating in the air. Was killed.
Running after invisible dragons.
Giant fairydragon! (three) Jack kills it.
Checking room, portal, guy with torch. Lyria casts augury and gets voice in head. “I don’t think you should come through here just yet”. Recovers all spent spell slots!
Platinum coin door. Stained glass M.
Master bedroom, big creature snoring loudly. Lyria finds nothing in the wardrobe. Wands from portraits activates on Detect magic. Easy kills.
Tiziano’s sword critted.
Stairs down, one each way, choosing left.
First door silver coin, second no coin. Coin door, clean and boring storeroom.
Piles of clay bricks w auras. Lyria builds a medium chest who is a mimic. Small room w oven, further door to corridor.
Locked door with no lock.
Room in corridor with no coin. Hardwood cabinets. Metal creature. Left.
Room no coin, bathroom. Reading material. Homunculus metal creature. Stone talks to it. Opens door. Wands, orbs, stuff. Stone framed mirror decorated with yawning homunculus. Furniture made from Spellbooks, manage to free 12 between Stone and Felix.
Homunculus hands magic helmet to Stone (who hands it to Lyria, who attunes to it).

Going south in school.
Erik appears through a door, he’s walked for days from the Giants.
Stone get told off by Halaster and failed his exam.
Erik opens a door and talks to a mindflayer. He wants the brain of Spite Harrowdale, human male. He has information about financial values in exchange.
Double doors, se golem and woman and floating brains.
More double doors. Erik opens doors and it kreeks open. Quiet room, copper tubes, labelled: Turbulence, Violence, Karstis, Yarek, Spite, Skrianna, Vacant, Cephalossk, Vacant, Nylas, Halaster, Wormriddle, Guest Lecturer.
Double doors, another set of double doors, room w cells, down to the statue, turn right (west), open door, use eyes.
Lyria checks the dragonboen statue.
Inscription: Follow the rules. Obey your instructors. Don’t be this guy.
Cael cast greater restoration. Drakthar Steelclaw. Erik makes him free the goblins. They get the directions to outside.
He cast darkvision on Cael.
Found room with bloodied curtains and a body. False wall to the north, bone devil. Erik barters for a contract.
Kill devil, Halaster appears. He is in a good mood. Stone asks about the library.
Through south door, secret door, tunnell, secret door.
Return to professor and take the other exit, double doors on …
Leading us a long way around. Erik stays behind. Stone’s room for rest? Training room w statues. Keep in mind sometimes surrender should be an option. Kitchen. Corridoor to library, do not enter unaccompanied.
Cael conversation w Halaster about dreams. Vanrakdoom? Talk to the mindflayer?
Resting in Stone’s room. Cael sends a lovely map to Erik. Stone returns for a rest, finds a note. Note to Elan from little brother? Drow house House Tanor’thal.

Meet co-student on the way out. Spite Harrowdale. We tell about the mindflayer.
Professor Wyrmriddle does transmutation.
We go back to the dead body of Yarek, and open the south door.
Portal: A stone arch embedded in the middle of the southeast wall has the image of an open book carved into its keystone.
Cael also finds a secret door.

Reactivating the portal, new rune. Going through all of them. Moving on through secret doors and decide to descend the stairs.

Baine goes down a slope in a bucket, rope snaps, falls down into the swamp on Ninlar.
We’re going to kill the bullywug slaad kind.
Going northeast. Spectral naga fighting yuan-ti. We are yuan-ti? Fighting Naga, Lyria coming to herself, naga dies. It was back in time, the bone naga that we killed earlier.
A mirror surrounded by interlocking gears in a dead end to the north. Another portal? There’s a rune within the portal. Rune means war?

Moving north. Lots of bullywug and frogs.
Slaad, short chat. Will not leave. Hydra comes in. Both died.
King has headband that is magical. Headband of intellect. Ninlar cast aid on Ninlar, Cael and Lyria 20 hp.
Platinum holy symbol snake with fang.
Lyria found hydra poo hole.
Return to bullywugs. Ungrateful, but gives us a jade thingy.
Akademy of wizards not far below. Nerds, they may have more knowledge of Vanrakdoom.
Ninlar tries to turn the ghost, she flies away.
Going south in circles looking for the naga. Found some undead, flesh golem and a raven on its shoulder.
Human nerd and minotaur skeleton appears. Knows about Vanrakdoom far down.
Naga tends to keep to the east.
23 floors. Vanrakdoom is not on floor 9. Below the 16th floor.
We borrow the raven to find the last naga, it’s in a hidden tunnel we avoided. Killed quickly. Statue makes a hissing noise, Stone touches it and gets to ask a question. He asks where the dragon is.

We’re on LEVEL 9!
Lobby with alarm spell, waiting room. Notes on doors with “Wait here”, “W/C”. A floating arm, of Manshoon. People clean up in the bath. Halaster comes out and asks us to join the school. Stone joins. The rest are asked to clean up after a student that summoned a chain devil.
Ask for the way to Yarack.
Cael gets his scarf signed by Manshoon.
We move into the school and south, Cael gets hit by poison dart. Boy and half-ogre in a room, tells us to go further south to double doors.
Aid will last.

Sneak past troglodytes, Derus loses his backpack with a lot of noise. Trogs are distracted and we sneak on into a corridor by the river that ends in a stairway downwards. We descend to floor 11.
Elvish voices discussion having seen something, superiors.
Drow fight.
Ventred, Obsidian scarab w symbol of house Ayvrundar (spider baby people).

Lots of tunnels. Troll head and limbs spread around. On closer inspection they start twitching.
Tiziano accidentally teleported into a tunnel during battle with troll limbs and troglodytes. Grappled by something mystical.
Killed troll that killed troglodytes, grapplecreature escaped.
Secret doors to temple, feels peaceful.
Balhanoth?
Altar with chest behind. There are tomes on the altar. Bottom filled with coins. Scrolls.
A muddy dagger of Venom found among guano and drow intestines.
Olucka sees a lot of drow up a tunnel, and a quicksand/swampy area. Illusions. Drow are undead, easily killed. One real drow got away w rope trick?
Dispel magic, grapple drow. Ol Thelena, House Freth.
West, false acid pool. Gateway to House Freth area, a lot of fighting there, creature does not pull a lot of people there.
Lyria asks shield about aberrations, and get directions southeast-ish. We go back to the cavern with pillars and altar. Secret door and statue of Laogzed.
Olucka found monster in one of the side rooms.
Lyria went down, greater healing potion by Derius.
Discussion about whether to move on, short rest or long rest. Tiziano wants wait in place for hours to long rest to save a healing potion. Lyria and Z are well and wants to move on. TDB next time!

Door to the south. Temple under restoration. Erik tries to deface a statue of Lolth and is paralyzed and fell down.
Through the next door is a hallway, and further a sick bay. We chase away the sick drow. Storage room next, with a tunnel up north. We go back to check the north door.
North door in hallway leads to council room-ish? Door to bed chamber, and spider room. Tunnel from here leads to some of a maze, one dead end, one tunnel to the storage room. Comes out in a gallery. A cold room with undead to the north, Lyria scares them away. Dead end w dead dwarf and magic gauntlets up north.
Tunnel back, turn further north. Empty Troglodyte lair? Come back round to where we were before, cleaning up a room of zombies eating dead bodies. Moving back further north looking for the “Apprentice” creature. (Muriel)

Altar, two hook horror statues beside the dais, mirror carved to look like Halaster. “Flattery will get you everywhere”. Erik flatters the mirror and a gate opens to a corridor. Erik steps in, and ends up in a shaft, falling 60 ft.
Exploring quarters to the north. Mirror gate with Etched into the bottom of the mirror’s stone frame are the letters T-U-O-Y-A-W.
North, end room with statue. Touch to teleport. Statues in love.
Big room with floor of skulls. Skulls crushing when walking on them. Investigating door to the south. Large room with pillars, and two large drow creatures. In the next room, a Statue of Eilistrae should be holding something. A sword?
Following corridor east and north. Circling around to the large skull room, there are lifelike statues of drow warriors.

The opposite door leads to a large exercise room with a large mirror (gate) to the north. Four dead dwarves in a half circle. Lump in the chest or one appears to be a big emerald with a small imperfection in it shaped like a spider. Worth a decent bit.

Retrieve a Runestone Fragment
Volothamp Geddarm introduces the characters to a friend of his: a young captain of the City Watch named Jalester Silvermane.
Jalester tells the characters that he wants a fragment of the Runestone saying its recovery will help to ensure Waterdeep’s security. He describes the Runestone as a large, glowing, disk-shaped gem with Halaster’s rune floating in it. It was created by Halasar and secreted away in the depths of Undermountain
He does not mention a monetary reward for delivering a Runestone fragment to him; instead, Jalester offers the characters his lasting friendship—which can bring many benefits, considering his position in the City Watch.

They can offer a potion of surpreme healing. Leader has some gloves that are valuable.
Coming from south west.
First encounter troll with abcesses that expelled insect swarms. Lots of drow combat below, Zress (sister or daughter of Erik’s sparring companion?). Some friendly drow, some chasme, hezrou, lots of unfriendly drow.
Long battle.
Some back and forth about letting Zress live or not, ending up keeping her alive. Erik gives her to the drow.
Potion of Surpreme healing.
Spidersilk gloves with bloodstones.
Erik got some poison, 20 doses shared within the party as a story item.
Drow Poison (Injury). This poison is typically made only by the drow, and only in a place far removed from sunlight. A creature subjected to this poison must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is also unconscious while poisoned in this way. The creature wakes up if it takes damage or if another creature takes an action to shake it awake.
