Longbow of Melodies very_rare PS-DC-DD-08 (PlayTest) Show
Notes:

Weapon, Very Rare (Requires Attunement)

This bow has multiple strings and resembles a lyre or small harp. By strumming the strings while setting an
arrow to the bow, you imbue the arrow with magic.

You can play one of the following melodies when you use the bow to make a ranged weapon attack. You must
choose to do so before you make the attack roll, and you can play only one melody per attack.

Melody of Precision. If you're proficient in Performance, you gain a +1 bonus to the attack roll. If you
have expertise in Performance, you gain a +2 bonus instead.

Melody of Reverberation. The melody you strum echoes loudly. On a hit, the target takes extra thunder damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

This item is found in The Book of Many Things.

Songcraft. This longbow plays pirate shanties when it is used.

Pole of Collapsing common PS-DC-DD-08 (PlayTest) Show
Notes:

Wondrous Item, Common

This item functions as a Pole. While holding it, you can take a Magic action to collapse it into a 1-foot-long rod for ease of storage (the pole's weight doesn't change) or cause the 1-foot-long rod to revert to a Pole. The rod elongates only as far as the surrounding space allows.

This item is found in the DMG.

Language. The bearer can speak and understand Common while the item is on the bearer’s person.

Tome of Clear Thought very_rare CCC-HULB03-02 Dead Canaries Show
Item rewards: Rod of Hellish Flames (minorTemperate property) very_rare FR-DC-TRIDEN-MYKE-06 Trials of Myth Nantar (Playtest) Show
Notes:

Rod, very rare (requires attunement by a Spellcaster)

Glowing cinders orbit the flanged head of this black iron rod.

This rod can be used as an arcane focus. While holding this rod, you gain the following benefits:

Hellish Resistance. You have resistance to fire and necrotic damage.

Searing Rebuke. You can cast the Hellish Rebuke spell as a 4th-level spell (save DC 16) from the rod. Once you use the rod to cast the spell, the rod can’t cast the spell again until the next dawn.

Surge of Brimstone. Whenever you cast a spell that deals fire or necrotic damage, you can use the rod to deal the maximum damage instead of rolling. Once this property is used, it can’t be used again until the next dawn.

Rod Flavour: This rod bears the marks of the followers of Szass Tam. It always feels tepid to the touch, seemingly ignoring the environment around it and while you touch it so do you. You are unharmed by temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, and 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. The disdain it has for its surroundings may also rub off on the bearer as irritability or a lack of patience.

Love's Bite (Nine Lives Stealer, longsword, 7 charges) very_rare DDAL07-11 A Lesson in Love Show
Notes:

Weapon (Longsword), very rare (requires attunement)

You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Life Stealing. The weapon has 1d8 + 1 charges. When you attack a creature that has fewer than 100 Hit Points with this weapon and roll a 20 on the d20 for the attack roll, the creature must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be slain instantly as the sword tears its life force from its body. Constructs and Undead succeed on the save automatically. The weapon loses 1 charge if the creature is slain. When the weapon has no charges remaining, it loses this property.

The blade of this elegantly-curved longsword is fashioned of silvery-blue steel gilt in gold. A strip of delicate paper hangs from the pommel, upon which is inscribed a breathtakingly beautiful poem. When the wielder scores a critical hit with the weapon, its heart is filled with the agonizing ache of spurned love.

Staff of Striking very_rare DDAL07-12 In Search of Secrets Show
Notes:

Staff of Striking

Staff, weapon, very rare (requires attunement)

This staff can be wielded as a magic Quarterstaff that grants a +3 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls made with it.

The staff has 10 charges. When you hit with a melee attack using it, you can expend up to 3 charges. For each charge you expend, the target takes an extra 1d6 Force damage.

Regaining Charges. The staff regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll 1d20. On a 1, the staff becomes a nonmagical Quarterstaff.

Versatile. A Versatile weapon can be used with one or two hands. A damage value in parentheses appears with the property. The weapon deals that damage when used with two hands to make a melee attack.

This staff appears wholly unexceptional. The wood haft is gnarled and irregular, and the thin strip of leather wrapped around its midpoint is frayed and cracked. When rapidly spun in the hands of a skilled user, the staff creates a buzzing drone audible to all within 100 feet. If spun for more than a few moments, the drone turns into a sonorous, chanted prayer to Ubtao.
