Magic Items

This item is made from the end of a white dragon's horn, banded in gold and gems from the beast's hoard. It grows slightly warm when within 120 feet of a dragon. This horn was once carried by Hilda in life and she used it to defend her clan from all manner of deadly attacks. Whenever this horn is sounded, Hilda's battle song to Valkur plays loudly, regardless of the skill or effort of the user.

+2 Longbow with +2 initiative

This cloak has been in Avernus for ages and been worn in constant conflict. While actively using any properties of the item, the bearer experiences a harmless flash of pain. In addition, the cloak whispers warnings to its bearer, granting a +2 bonus to initiative if the bearer isn’t incapacitated.

This fine garment is made of black silver interwoven with faint silvery threads. While wearing it, you gain the following benefits:
• You have resistance to poison damage.
• You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
• You can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free.
• You can’t be caught in webs of any sort and can move through webs as if they were difficult terrain.
• You can use an action to cast the web spell (save DC 13). The web created by the spell fills twice its normal area. Once used, this property of the cloak can’t be used again until the next dawn.

You stop aging. You are immune to any effect that would age you, and you can’t die from old age.

This shield, crafted of blackened oak, is denser and heavier than it first appears. It was carved from the heart of a Treant that was cut down to create an altar for sacrifices to Bel. It's face glows a malevolent orange when celestials are within 120 ft.

Human. This shield is tied to a human of legend. It might hold symbols whose significance is lost to the ages.
Sinister. This item is linked to a deed of great evil; the sacrifice of innocents in the worship of a demon lord.
Sentinel. This item glows faintly when Celestials are within 120 feet of it.
Blissful. While in possession of the item, the bearer feels fortunate and optimistic about what the future holds.

Black smoke drips and boils off the black iron of this greatsword. The bone hilt of the weapon is made from the horns of a Pit Fiend and is magically impervious to damage and wear unless thrown into the River Styx. The bearer will occasionally hear the muttered lamentations of a pit fiend, calling for their murderous brother to be destroyed in retribution.

This blade now hums and vibrates with great energy, and slices through obstacles with the greatest of ease. If the sword does not claim the life of a sentient creature each day, you find that are easily angered and become frustrated by even the smallest obstacles.

*Dragon.* This item is made by a dragon, perhaps from precious metals and gems from the dragon’s hoard. It grows slightly warm when within 120 feet of a dragon.
*Ornament.* The item bears clouds set with platinum inlays, and copper lightning bolts adorn the length of its surface.
*Songcraft* Whenever the command word is spoken, the bearer hears a crackling rumble and the rythmic chant of an ancient song.
*Metamorphic.* The item periodically and randomly alters the appearance of the inlayed clouds and bolts in slight ways. The bearer has no control over these minor alterations, which have no effect on the item’s use.

This defender is a greatsword and is made out of crude black iron. Inscribed upon the blade in Abyssal is the name Deathshield.
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
The first time you attack with the sword on each of your turns, you can transfer some or all of the sword’s bonus to your Armor Class, instead of using the bonus on any attacks that turn. For example, you could reduce the bonus to your attack and damage rolls to +1 and gain a +2 bonus to AC. The adjusted bonuses remain in effect until the start of your next turn, although you must hold the sword to gain a bonus to AC from it. This item is found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

A silver circlet marked with Arcane runes

This incandescent blue sphere glows with an unearthly white light as it orbits your head, casting odd shadows all around you. To those nearby, these shadows sometimes seem to take on nefarious shapes or perform undesirable things.

Hewn from the bedrock of Chult itself, this mighty stone staff offers tremendous magical power—and all it asks is that you honor Ubtao in the process. Though it is crafted of stone, the staff is surprisingly light and easy to use.

Dragon scale mail is made of the scales of one kind of dragon. Sometimes dragons collect their cast-off scales and gift them to humanoids. Other times, hunters carefully skin and preserve the hide of a dead dragon. In either case, dragon scale mail is highly valued.

While wearing this armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC, you have advantage on saving throws against the Frightful Presence and breath weapons of dragons, and you have resistance to one damage type that is determined by the kind of a dragon that provided the scales (see the table).

Additionally, you can focus your senses as an action to magically discern the distance and direction to the closest dragon of the type of armor within 30 miles of you. This special action can't be used again until the next dawn.

This staff is covered in carvings of infernals reading various tomes. If placed atop an open book, the staff reads the book aloud with a deep, inhuman voice, using the language the book is written in.

This wide belt is made of what at first appears to be supple, black leather studded with mithral. Closer
examination reveals the grisly truth—it is made of the tanned hides of drow.
