2019-03-14 09:58 | CCC-ROZK-0102 Zhentarim’s Lament | 1 | -40 | Tome of Leadership and Influence | Show
Unlock: Tome of Leadership and Influence. The red leather that covers this tome is embossed with a smiling man with a third eye. This book contains guidelines for influencing and charming others, and its words are charged with magic. If you spend 48 hours over a period of 6 days or fewer studying the book’s contents and practicing its guidelines, your Charisma score increases by 2, as does your maximum for that score. The manual then loses its magic, but regains it in a century. A description of this item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide (pg. 208). Story Reward: Nature of the Weave. You have uncovered a series of tomes written by the archmage, Manshoon. By spending 50 downtime days, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you are already proficient in Arcana, you double your proficiency when making checks with the skill. Ring of Spell Storing: 1x Haste |

2021-03-23 18:00 | DDAL00-03 Those That Came Before | 1 | 0 | 3000 | Robe of the Archmagi (Gray) | Show
Favor of Candlekeep. Inkpot and the scribes of Candlekeep are extremely grateful for your stories and account of your time in Warlock’s Crypt. In return, they have offered to teach you ancient Netherese as an immersion course; if you would like to learn ancient Netherese, you must spend 120 downtime days at Candlekeep doing nothing other than working on your knowledge of this language. If you are not interested in learning ancient Netherese, you may instead choose three spell scrolls of up to 5th level (tier 3) or 7th level (tier 4) for free from an approved Adventurers League resource. Robe of the Archmagi (Gray). Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement by a sorcerer, wizard, or warlock). Originally crafted during the height of the Netherese Empire, this robe is a warm gray color and very plush. It is stitched with silver thread and the back is covered by Rhaugilath’s arcane sigil mixed with the sign of Mystryl. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. Rooster (Wand of Wonder). Wand, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster). Rhaugilath’s efforts to record the history of the Netherese Empire sometimes incorporated some unsavory elements… such as the transmogrification of a chaos sorcerer into this elegant wand. Covered in swirls, whorls, dizzying patterns, knobs, and clicky bits, it thrums and hums in your hand. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. |

2019-02-20 05:40 | DDAL05-8 Durlag’s Tower | 1 | 10 | Staff of Thunder and Lightning | Show
Unlock: Staff of Thunder and Lightning. This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. Story Award: Vergadain’s Firespirits. Vergadain, a dwarven deity of wealth and trickery, was known for his favored drink; as clear as water and smelled of honey and cane sugar, but was in truth an incredibly potent liquor that put standard dwarven spirits to shame. He would sometimes challenge unknowing humans and elves to drinking contents, where he would slyly swap in sweetened water while his opponent would down drink after drink of this highly-flammable liquid. It rarely ended well for them. And now you have the recipe! You may spend 60 downtime days to craft one barrel of firespirits. Each batch requires special sweet herbs from Bitter-root’s copse near Durlag’s Tower and 100 gp worth of other materials, including aged dwarven spirits blessed by a dwarven priest. If you find yourself in possession of campaign documentation that bestows ownership of a distillery, this time and gold cost is reduced by half. Each barrel contains approximately 30 gallons of firespirits, and can be sold for 1,000 gp. Alternately, as this is a rare elixir; it may be worth a significant amount to Fai Chen, certain high-ranking lords, or other purveyors of such fineries. Additionally, if you give a nip of firespirits (just a wee one) to a dwarf, all Charisma (Persuasion) checks made with them are made with advantage for the next hour. Item: Potion of Superior Healing |

2019-08-05 08:00 | DDAL06-03 Crypt of the Death Giants | 1 | 5 | Belt of Storm Giant Strength | Show
Unlock: Belt of Storm Giant Strength. Story Award: Hall of Mirth. Characters can spend time in the Hall of Mirth learning about giant kind and ancient Ostoria and the giant language. At the conclusion of this adventure a character may choose to learn the giant language for 50 downtime days. In addition at the conclusion of this adventure a character may choose to learn about Ostoria, by spending 50 downtime days the character will have advantage on any future rolls regarding giants or Ostoria. Story Award: Hall of Omens. Characters can spend time in the Hall of Omens learning about signs and portents. A wizard of the school of divination may spend 200 downtime days to gain 1 additional portent dice. Any other character may spend 50 downtime days to gain 3 Luck Points and may use them as the Lucky feat. Once the 3 Luck Points are spent they are not regained. Story Award: Hall of Honor. Characters can spend time in the hall of honor learning about the deeds of the ancient Ostorian Honor Guard. A character who spends 25 downtime days will gain advantage in dealings with true giants (Cloud, Hill, Fire, Stone, or Storm) when the subject of the Ostorian Honor Guard can be included in the conversation. |

Unlock: Mace of Smiting. This head of the mace of smiting features an angry dwarven face. The specter of Reizzlerum Caskview still maintains a connection to the weapon, causing the owner to gain an unending thirst for ale. Weapon (mace), rare You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The bonus increases to +3 when you use the mace to attack a construct. When you roll a 20 on an attack roll made with this weapon, the target takes an extra 7 bludgeoning damage, or an extra 14 bludgeoning damage if it's a construct. If a construct has 25 hit points or fewer after taking this damage, it is destroyed. Story Award: Endless Bluetooth Ale. If a way was discovered to set up a supply of the blue lichen to the Yawning Portal, Durnan provides all the Bluetooth Ale the characters can drink whenever they visit. Brewed from the blue lichen grown on the skeletons of dwarves left for dead in the Stonebone Mines, bluetooth ale is a truly unique beverage. The strong dwarven-style ale is a rich sapphire color, and has a faint earthy taste. While the ale lacks most of the special properties of the blue lichen, it still can turn the imbibers teeth (and bones) temporarily blue. The ale functions as an ingested poison. The drinker must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or find that their bones and teeth turn a dark shade of blue for 24 hours. |

Each time this wand is used, the wielder forgets all their bonds for 10 minutes. This wand has 7 Charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its Charges to cast the Lightning Bolt spell (save DC 15) from it. For 1 charge, you cast the 3rd-level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend. The wand regains 1d6 + 1 expended Charges daily at dawn. If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand crumbles into ashes and is destroyed. Unlock: Potion of Heroism. |

2019-09-04 14:30 | DDAL08-17 The Tower of Ahghairon | 1 | 15 | Cubic Gate | Show
Cubic Gate. Wondrous Item, very rare. This cube is 3 inches across and radiates palpable magical energy. The six sides of the cube are each keyed to a different plane of existence, one of which is the Material Plane. The other sides are linked to planes determined by the GM. You can use an action to press one side of the cube to cast the gate spell with it, opening a portal to the plane keyed to that side. Alternatively, if you use an action to press one side twice, you can cast the plane shift spell (save DC 17) with the cube and transport the targets to the plane keyed to that side. The cube has 3 charges. Each use of the cube expends 1 charge. The cube regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn. This item can be found on Magic Item Table I in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. Created by the wizard Hilather, the six sides of this cube are covered in characters from the language of Alzhedo. The six sides are keyed to: the Prime Material, the Elemental Plane of Fire, the Nine Hells, the Far Realm, the Outlands, and Arborea. Ahghairon’s Secret. If they get this far, the characters are among a very small number of people who know that the wizard Ahghairon is still alive. They can use this knowledge to their advantage, for example by returning to ask a favor at a later point, or perhaps bartering or selling the knowledge to someone else in Waterdeep. |

Anything you are wearing or carrying – apart from this ring – is invisible with you. You remain invisible until the ring is removed, until you attack or cast a spell, or until you use a bonus action to become visible again. To avoid being spotted while invisible, you must cover the ring with a glove. Tavern Prize: This tiny mechanical assistant always on hand to bring you drinks and food from the bar and will do whatever you ask of them within the confines of an inn or tavern (short of any task that would harm another person). |

2019-02-20 05:40 | DDAL05-8 Durlag’s Tower | 1 | 10 | 1 | Staff of Thunder and Lightning | Show
Unlock: Staff of Thunder and Lightning.
