Biography


Ssakiel, die Halbwaldelfen Bardin, entstammte einem idyllischen Dorf am Rande des Forest of Mir in Calimshan, wo das Rauschen der Blätter und das Zwitschern der Vögel Teil ihres täglichen Lebens waren. Ihre Kindheit wurde jedoch brutal unterbrochen, als Menschenhändler das Dorf überfielen. Als eine der wenigen Überlebenden wurde sie gewaltsam aus ihrer vertrauten Umgebung gerissen und fand sich in den finsteren Gassen von Manshaka wieder.

Die Händler verkauften Ssakiel aufgrund ihrer Schönheit an einen Bordellbetreiber, der ihre Fähigkeiten als Tänzerin erkannte. Um in dieser rauen Umgebung zu überleben, musste sie lernen, ihre weiblichen Reize geschickt einzusetzen. Im Laufe der Jahre erlangte sie nicht nur Anerkennung, sondern auch eine gewisse Kontrolle über ihr Schicksal. Ihr Tanz war mehr als nur Unterhaltung; er war eine Waffe, die sie geschickt einsetzte, um ihre Freiheit zu sichern.

Doch das Glück sollte nicht von Dauer sein. Mit einem Wechsel in der Führung des Rotlichtviertels änderten sich auch die Anforderungen. Eine dunkle Wendung des Schicksals brachte sie und andere Frauen in die Hände eines unbekannten Rituals. Schreie und Klagen erfüllten die Luft, und Ssakiel erwachte in einem veränderten Körper - sie war nun eine Yuan-ti, halb Mensch, halb Schlange.

Ihre neue Existenz war geprägt von Anpassung und Überlebenskampf. Doch mitten in diesem Albtraum erschien ein geheimnisvoller Mann, ein Efreeti, der sie überraschend freikaufte. Statt sie weiterhin als Besitz zu behandeln, enthüllte er, dass er ihr eine Schiffsüberfahrt ermöglicht hatte, um die Welt zu erkunden. Ihre Verwirrung und Ungläubigkeit wichen einem Gefühl der Dankbarkeit.

Am Hafen, während das Schiff in die Ferne segelte, stellte Ssakiel ihrem Retter zahlreiche Fragen. Der Efreeti, sein Gesicht im Schatten seiner Kapuze verborgen, lächelte rätselhaft. "Eines Tages werden wir uns wiedersehen, meine kleine Sonne, und dann werde ich dir alles erklären", flüsterte er, bevor er sich entfernte.

Entschlossen, die Welt zu erkunden und ihre Leidenschaften auszuleben, segelte Ssakiel in eine ungewisse Zukunft. Ihr Herz glühte wie die Sonne, und sie war bereit, die Abenteuer, die das Schicksal für sie bereithielt, mit offenen Armen zu empfangen.


Ssakiel, die Yuan-ti mit einer Größe zwischen 175 und 250 Zentimetern, trägt die Anmut einer verführerischen Schlangenfrau. Ihr Schlangenschwanz, blaugrau schimmernd, windet sich elegant hinter ihr her und verleiht ihrem Auftreten eine anmutige Beweglichkeit. Die stechenden, gelbgoldenen Schlangenaugen, umrahmt von feinem rotem Eyeliner, geben ihrem Blick eine faszinierende Intensität.

Lange, braune Haare fallen in sanften Wellen über ihre Schultern und sind kunstvoll mit goldenen Schmuckstücken eingeflochten. Ein Sari aus leichtem, wehendem Stoff in cremefarbenen und braunen Tönen schmückt ihren Körper. Dieser dreiteilige Sari besteht aus einem rotgoldenem Bikinioberteil, einem dunkelbraunen Rock mit cremefarbenen Mustern und einem offenen, cremefarbenen Überwurf mit dunkelbraunen Verzierungen. Die eine Seite des Überwurfs ist klar offen, während die andere Seite ihren Bikiniartigen, roten Oberteil freilegt.

Um ihren Hals trägt sie ein Lederband, an dem ein türkiser Stein hängt. Ein Stirnkettchen, aus Gold mit einem kleinen roten Stein in der Mitte, ziert ihre Stirn. Auf ihrer sonnenverwöhnten Haut finden sich viele malerische Tattoos, die auf der rechten Seite ihrer Wangen beginnen und sich kunstvoll über ihren gesamten Körper schlängeln.

Lederne Handschuhe und goldene Ohrringe setzen zusätzliche Akzente. Ihr Bauchtanzgürtel, aus rötlich-goldenem Stoff, besteht aus einer Reihe von Goldmünzen mit Prägungen aus Calimshan und Anchoron. Zwischen den Münzen hängen unterschiedlich große Glöckchen, die bei jeder ihrer Bewegungen verführerische Klänge von sich geben. Dieser Gürtel unterstreicht ihre kunstvollen Bauchtanzbewegungen und verleiht ihrem Auftritt eine zusätzliche Dimension der Anmut und Verspieltheit.

• Winter. This eladrin wears a short sword at their side. Winter's throat is bruised, and a few bright green vines are still wound around their neck.

• Summer. A lock of blue hair is lovingly entwined in Summer's fingers. A spellbook protruding from Summer's robes uses a love poem as bookmark. A vicious sword wound on Summer's chest is likely to have been the cause of their death.

• Autumn. Autumn's lips have been meticulously coated in orange lipstick. Their body is covered in fiery burns of a magical nature.


Javelin of Lightning
Weapon (javelin), uncommon
This javelin is a magic weapon. When you hurl it and speak its command word, it transforms into a bolt of lightning, forming a line 5 feet wide that extends out from you to a target within 120 feet. Each creature in the line excluding you and the target must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The lightning bolt turns back into a javelin when it reaches the target. Make a ranged weapon attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes damage from the javelin plus 4d6 lightning damage. The javelin's property can't be used again until the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a magic weapon. This javelin glows an angry red when within 120 feet of a troll.

Story Award: Grateful Grippli
Having done what they came to do, the characters are free to take their leave of the grippli anytime; once regular traffic resumes between the trading post and Candlekeep, the heroes have no trouble finding a ship that will carry them back to the library.
In the meantime, if the characters prevented one or more eggs in the brood pools from being killed, the returning grippli are so ecstatic that Pond Mother offers to perform a ceremony for the party’s benefit, called the ritual of friend marking. If they agree, they are brought to the pool in the center of Pond Mother’s home at midnight. The grippli, croaking sonorously, surround the characters while they stand in the warm water and Pond Mother pours the contents of a jar into the pool. The liquid swirls, and motes of light begin rising up around the characters. Any party members who have second thoughts at this point can avoid the effect by succeeding on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. Party members who don’t resist, or who fail their saves, fall into a trance until dawn—when they come to their senses, completely rested and healed. All party members who completed the ritual can speak and understand the Grippli language from now on.

Biography


Ssakiel, die Halbwaldelfen Bardin, entstammte einem idyllischen Dorf am Rande des Forest of Mir in Calimshan, wo das Rauschen der Blätter und das Zwitschern der Vögel Teil ihres täglichen Lebens waren. Ihre Kindheit wurde jedoch brutal unterbrochen, als Menschenhändler das Dorf überfielen. Als eine der wenigen Überlebenden wurde sie gewaltsam aus ihrer vertrauten Umgebung gerissen und fand sich in den finsteren Gassen von Manshaka wieder.

Die Händler verkauften Ssakiel aufgrund ihrer Schönheit an einen Bordellbetreiber, der ihre Fähigkeiten als Tänzerin erkannte. Um in dieser rauen Umgebung zu überleben, musste sie lernen, ihre weiblichen Reize geschickt einzusetzen. Im Laufe der Jahre erlangte sie nicht nur Anerkennung, sondern auch eine gewisse Kontrolle über ihr Schicksal. Ihr Tanz war mehr als nur Unterhaltung; er war eine Waffe, die sie geschickt einsetzte, um ihre Freiheit zu sichern.

Doch das Glück sollte nicht von Dauer sein. Mit einem Wechsel in der Führung des Rotlichtviertels änderten sich auch die Anforderungen. Eine dunkle Wendung des Schicksals brachte sie und andere Frauen in die Hände eines unbekannten Rituals. Schreie und Klagen erfüllten die Luft, und Ssakiel erwachte in einem veränderten Körper - sie war nun eine Yuan-ti, halb Mensch, halb Schlange.

Ihre neue Existenz war geprägt von Anpassung und Überlebenskampf. Doch mitten in diesem Albtraum erschien ein geheimnisvoller Mann, ein Efreeti, der sie überraschend freikaufte. Statt sie weiterhin als Besitz zu behandeln, enthüllte er, dass er ihr eine Schiffsüberfahrt ermöglicht hatte, um die Welt zu erkunden. Ihre Verwirrung und Ungläubigkeit wichen einem Gefühl der Dankbarkeit.

Am Hafen, während das Schiff in die Ferne segelte, stellte Ssakiel ihrem Retter zahlreiche Fragen. Der Efreeti, sein Gesicht im Schatten seiner Kapuze verborgen, lächelte rätselhaft. "Eines Tages werden wir uns wiedersehen, meine kleine Sonne, und dann werde ich dir alles erklären", flüsterte er, bevor er sich entfernte.

Entschlossen, die Welt zu erkunden und ihre Leidenschaften auszuleben, segelte Ssakiel in eine ungewisse Zukunft. Ihr Herz glühte wie die Sonne, und sie war bereit, die Abenteuer, die das Schicksal für sie bereithielt, mit offenen Armen zu empfangen.


Ssakiel, die Yuan-ti mit einer Größe zwischen 175 und 250 Zentimetern, trägt die Anmut einer verführerischen Schlangenfrau. Dieser dreiteilige Sari besteht aus einem rotgoldenem Bikinioberteil, einem dunkelbraunen Rock mit cremefarbenen Mustern und einem offenen, cremefarbenen Überwurf mit dunkelbraunen Verzierungen. Die eine Seite des Überwurfs ist klar offen, während die andere Seite ihren Bikiniartigen, roten Oberteil freilegt.

Um ihren Hals trägt sie ein Lederband, an dem ein türkiser Stein hängt. Ein Stirnkettchen, aus Gold mit einem kleinen roten Stein in der Mitte, ziert ihre Stirn. Auf ihrer sonnenverwöhnten Haut finden sich viele malerische Tattoos, die auf der rechten Seite ihrer Wangen beginnen und sich kunstvoll über ihren gesamten Körper schlängeln.

Lederne Handschuhe und goldene Ohrringe setzen zusätzliche Akzente. Ihr Bauchtanzgürtel, aus rötlich-goldenem Stoff, besteht aus einer Reihe von Goldmünzen mit Prägungen aus Calimshan und Anchoron. Zwischen den Münzen hängen unterschiedlich große Glöckchen, die bei jeder ihrer Bewegungen verführerische Klänge von sich geben. Dieser Gürtel unterstreicht ihre kunstvollen Bauchtanzbewegungen und verleiht ihrem Auftritt eine zusätzliche Dimension der Anmut und Verspieltheit.

Javelin of Lightning

This javelin is a magic weapon. When you hurl it and speak its command word, it transforms into a bolt of lightning, forming a line 5 feet wide that extends out from you to a target within 120 feet. Each creature in the line excluding you and the target must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The lightning bolt turns back into a javelin when it reaches the target. Make a ranged weapon attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes damage from the javelin plus 4d6 lightning damage. The javelin's property can't be used again until the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a magic weapon. Story Award: Grateful Grippli
Having done what they came to do, the characters are free to take their leave of the grippli anytime; once regular traffic resumes between the trading post and Candlekeep, the heroes have no trouble finding a ship that will carry them back to the library.
In the meantime, if the characters prevented one or more eggs in the brood pools from being killed, the returning grippli are so ecstatic that Pond Mother offers to perform a ceremony for the party’s benefit, called the ritual of friend marking. If they agree, they are brought to the pool in the center of Pond Mother’s home at midnight. The grippli, croaking sonorously, surround the characters while they stand in the warm water and Pond Mother pours the contents of a jar into the pool. The liquid swirls, and motes of light begin rising up around the characters. Any party members who have second thoughts at this point can avoid the effect by succeeding on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. Party members who don’t resist, or who fail their saves, fall into a trance until dawn—when they come to their senses, completely rested and healed. All party members who completed the ritual can speak and understand the Grippli language from now on.

Biography


Ssakiel, die Halbwaldelfen Bardin, entstammte einem idyllischen Dorf am Rande des Forest of Mir in Calimshan, wo das Rauschen der Blätter und das Zwitschern der Vögel Teil ihres täglichen Lebens waren. Die Händler verkauften Ssakiel aufgrund ihrer Schönheit an einen Bordellbetreiber, der ihre Fähigkeiten als Tänzerin erkannte. Um in dieser rauen Umgebung zu überleben, musste sie lernen, ihre weiblichen Reize geschickt einzusetzen. Im Laufe der Jahre erlangte sie nicht nur Anerkennung, sondern auch eine gewisse Kontrolle über ihr Schicksal. Ihr Tanz war mehr als nur Unterhaltung; er war eine Waffe, die sie geschickt einsetzte, um ihre Freiheit zu sichern.

Doch das Glück sollte nicht von Dauer sein. Mit einem Wechsel in der Führung des Rotlichtviertels änderten sich auch die Anforderungen. Eine dunkle Wendung des Schicksals brachte sie und andere Frauen in die Hände eines unbekannten Rituals. Schreie und Klagen erfüllten die Luft, und Ssakiel erwachte in einem veränderten Körper - sie war nun eine Yuan-ti, halb Mensch, halb Schlange.

Ihre neue Existenz war geprägt von Anpassung und Überlebenskampf. Doch mitten in diesem Albtraum erschien ein geheimnisvoller Mann, ein Efreeti, der sie überraschend freikaufte. Statt sie weiterhin als Besitz zu behandeln, enthüllte er, dass er ihr eine Schiffsüberfahrt ermöglicht hatte, um die Welt zu erkunden. Ihre Verwirrung und Ungläubigkeit wichen einem Gefühl der Dankbarkeit.

Am Hafen, während das Schiff in die Ferne segelte, stellte Ssakiel ihrem Retter zahlreiche Fragen. Der Efreeti, sein Gesicht im Schatten seiner Kapuze verborgen, lächelte rätselhaft. "Eines Tages werden wir uns wiedersehen, meine kleine Sonne, und dann werde ich dir alles erklären", flüsterte er, bevor er sich entfernte.

Lederne Handschuhe und goldene Ohrringe setzen zusätzliche Akzente. Ihr Bauchtanzgürtel, aus rötlich-goldenem Stoff, besteht aus einer Reihe von Goldmünzen mit Prägungen aus Calimshan und Anchoron. Zwischen den Münzen hängen unterschiedlich große Glöckchen, die bei jeder ihrer Bewegungen verführerische Klänge von sich geben. While wearing this ring, you are immune to magic that allows other creatures to read your thoughts, determine whether you are lying, know your alignment, or know your creature type. Creatures can telepathically communicate with you only if you allow it.

You can use an action to cause the ring to become invisible until you use another action to make it visible, until you remove the ring, or until you die.

If you die while wearing the ring, your soul enters it, unless it already houses a soul. You can remain in the ring or depart for the afterlife. As long as your soul is in the ring, you can telepathically communicate with any creature wearing it. A wearer can't prevent this telepathic communication.

Der Saltmarsher Händler Aubreck hatte ein großes Problem: Ein Schiff, die „Emperor of the Waves“, welches wertvolle Fracht für ihn an Bord hatte, war auf See verschollen. Doch vor kurzer Zeit erreichte ihn die Nachricht, dass es wieder an einer Küste, vielleicht 3 – 4 Tage von Saltmarsh entfernt, gesichtet worden war. Das Schiff schien in einem desolaten Zustand zu sein und von seiner Mannschaft fehlte jedes Zeichen. Nicht mehr lange, und das Meer würde das Schiff zu sich hinab in die Tiefen ziehen oder die felsige Küste sein ewiger Ruheplatz werden – und was ist, wenn andere das Schiff vorher plündern?...

Nun hatte Aubreck ein neues Problem: Wer entert das Schiff und holt seine Fracht von Bord und bringt sie zurück zu ihm, bevor das passiert?

Javelin of Lightning

This javelin is a magic weapon. When you hurl it and speak its command word, it transforms into a bolt of lightning, forming a line 5 feet wide that extends out from you to a target within 120 feet. Each creature in the line excluding you and the target must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The lightning bolt turns back into a javelin when it reaches the target. Make a ranged weapon attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes damage from the javelin plus 4d6 lightning damage. The javelin's property can't be used again until the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a magic weapon. Story Award: Grateful Grippli
Having done what they came to do, the characters are free to take their leave of the grippli anytime; once regular traffic resumes between the trading post and Candlekeep, the heroes have no trouble finding a ship that will carry them back to the library.
In the meantime, if the characters prevented one or more eggs in the brood pools from being killed, the returning grippli are so ecstatic that Pond Mother offers to perform a ceremony for the party’s benefit, called the ritual of friend marking. If they agree, they are brought to the pool in the center of Pond Mother’s home at midnight. The grippli, croaking sonorously, surround the characters while they stand in the warm water and Pond Mother pours the contents of a jar into the pool. The liquid swirls, and motes of light begin rising up around the characters. Any party members who have second thoughts at this point can avoid the effect by succeeding on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. Party members who don’t resist, or who fail their saves, fall into a trance until dawn—when they come to their senses, completely rested and healed. All party members who completed the ritual can speak and understand the Grippli language from now on.


Lantern of Revealing

While lit, this hooded lantern burns for 6 hours on 1 pint of oil, shedding bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. Invisible creatures and objects are visible as long as they are in the lantern’s bright light. You can use an action to lower the hood, reducing the light to dim light in a 5-foot radius.


Serpent Scale Armor

This suit of magic armor is made from shimmering scales. While wearing it, you can apply your full Dexterity modifier (instead of a maximum of +2) when determining your Armor Class. In addition, this armor does not impose disadvantage on your Dexterity (Stealth) checks.


Chime of Opening
Wondrous item, rare

This hollow metal tube measures about 1 foot long and weighs 1 pound. You can strike it as an action, pointing it at an object within 120 feet of you that can be opened, such as a door, lid, or lock. The chime issues a clear tone, and one lock or latch on the object opens unless the sound can’t reach the object. If no locks or latches remain, the object itself opens.

The chime can be used ten times. After the tenth time, it cracks and becomes useless.


Serpent's Fang
