Magic Items

The striking surface of this hammer has been forged into the shape of a gauntleted fist. The haft is a rod of heavy, black adamantine and wrapped in what appears to be spongy, green leather. Affixed to an iron ring on the pommel is a strip of tattered (though indestructible), blood‐stained parchment inscribed with a dwarven battle canticle. When used in battle the hammer reads the canticle aloud in a deep, resonating voice audible to anyone within 30 feet of the weapon. This staff is carved from a single piece of an unusual, purple wood and topped with a clenched, mithral claw. The claw clutches a green dragon scale the size of a small plate engraved with the elven word for “Oblivion”. The rune glows with a pale, green light and emits wisps of choking, caustic mist. Whoever is attuned the staff is able to speak, read, and write Draconic. A description of this item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

This shield appears as a shroud of shadow with the symbol of the Raven Queen glowing in dim red light. While holding this shield, nonmagical flames are extinguished within 30 feet of you as the shadow lashes out at the flame. The shield encourages you to hold no pity for those who suffer and die, for death is the natural end of life.
While holding this shield, you have a bonus to AC determined by the shield’s rarity. This bonus is in addition to the shield’s normal bonus to AC.

This band of emerald is engraved with the face of a snarling troll. While the ring works to heal its wearer, it radiates a comfortable warmth and the troll head’s expression changes to a wicked grin.

A wooden shield with Iron spikes protruding from the shield’s edges. A cracked orc skull is painted in black on its outer surface. It was crafted for Nimoar, a legendary human warlord who died in 936 DR. After his death, the shield disappeared from Nimoar’s Hold(a fortress that existed where waterdeep stands today).

Staff, very rare (requires attunement by a sorcerer, warlock, or wizard)
This great ashen staff is etched with many designs of swirling air and clouds. The staff magically resizes to fit the hand of any who carry it.

The Lor’Shon va’Na’eel empathically imparts a seething hunger to destroy the magic of others and funnel that power into the holder. The obsidian rod does not control the owner’s actions but fills their dreams with scorn for others who employ magic and hubris for the owner’s talents. When grasped by the attuned, the end of this rod wraps firmly around the wielder’s wrist.

Wonderous Item, Very Rare (requires attunement)
The typical crystal ball, a very rare item, is about 6 inches in diameter. While touching it, you can cast the scrying spell (save DC 17) with it.
When a character that is attuned to this Crystal Ball spends an action peering into it, they can see events that have occurred in their past.

This leather-bound tome smells of rich mahogany and contains health, fitness, and diet tips, as well as an impressive collection of varied recipesfor every occasion. The name “Montague” has been written on the inside front cover, possibly indicating a previous owner. A description of this item can be found on page 180of the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

This defender is a greatsword and is made out of crude black iron.

Originally crafted during the height of the Netherese Empire, this robe is a warm gray color and very plush. It is stitched with silver thread and the back is covered by Rhaugilath’s arcane sigil mixed with the sign of Mystryl. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide

This thick tome contains pages of thin, hammered copper and has thing covers of slate. It is held shut by a severed elven tongue. Occasionally, the attuned user of this spellbook finds messages that have been scrawled by someone claiming to be Netherese; this ghostly writer refers to itself simply as “the warlock” and frequently opines on the power of the one true god of magic: Mystryl.

Strange Material (Dragon Scale). This armor is made from the scale of the dead Leviathan of the Broken God. While the armor appears black indoors or in dim light, it is actually a very deep amethyst color and sparkles in direct sunlight. This armor is not made of metal.
