Immovable Rod. Rod, uncommon. This flat iron rod has a button on one end. You can use an action to press the button, which causes the rod to become magically fixed in place. Until you or another creature uses an action to push the button again, the rod doesn't move, even if it is defying gravity. The rod can hold up to 8,000 pounds of weight. More weight causes the rod to deactivate and fall. A creature can use an action to make a DC 30 Strength check, moving the fixed rod up to 10 feet on a success.

Mission 4. Through the Fires

1. First Weapon Returned. Max gold for their level for each character in the party, and each character may choose five rare consumables (following normal rules for the number of pieces of magical ammunition). A character could, for example, choose 2 potions of superior healing, 2 spells scroll of greater restoration, and 1d6 +2 crossbow bolts.

2. Second Weapon Returned. Each character may choose one of the following items: arrow catching shield, bracers of defense, canaith mandolin, necklace of prayer beads (with six beads), staff of the woodlands, +2 wand of the war mage, or a +2 weapon.

3. Third Weapon Returned. Each character receives either a blessing of protection or a blessing of weapon enhancement (player choice) and when the character gains 17th level can claim one of these legendary items for their own use subject to the MIL restrictions.

Bracers of Defense. Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement). Given as gifts to an honored guest of the elves of Cormanthor these mithral bracers gleam brightly in any light. The fine elven filigree belies their power and any who attune to the bracers can understand and speak Elvish while wearing them.

Indebted to Verthandantalynx. You’ve pledged a favor to the ancient green dragon Verthandantalynx. She’s sure to call it in the most in opportune time.

Zaratan's Seed (Elemental Essence Shard, Earth). Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a sorcerer). The tear drops shard glistens with the colors of the sea, and glows faintly in moonlight. Unbreakable. The item can’t be broken. Special means must be used to destroy it.

The crossguard, blade, and hilt are worked through with a forest motif inlaid with shining emeralds and platinum filigree. Ring of Fire Resistance. Ring, rare (requires attunement). You have resistance to fire damage type while wearing this ring. This item is found on Magic Item Table G in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. This simple ring of twisted brass wire is warm to the touch.

DDEX03-07 Herald of the Moon. This adventure features an item that is no longer acceptable under D&D Adventurers League guidelines, as it deviates from the attunement standards in the DMG. Instead of Shadowsong, this adventure instead unlocks a +2 weapon (longbow or shortbow). This +2 weapon has the sentinel property and glows dimly in the presence of humans.

Rope of Entanglement. Wondrous Item, rare. This rope is fashioned from a 30-foot length of wilted, thorny vine. Upon entangling a creature that isn’t undead or a construct, the thorns dig into its target’s flesh and appear to feed—the vine grows green, its leaves become full and vibrant, and colorful, aromatic flowers blossom along its length. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.
