2019-04-16 18:10 DDAL00-02F The Definition of Heroism 1 5 Quaryl's Codex (Tome of the Stilled Tongue) Show

Unlock: QUARYL’S CODEX (TOME OF THE STILLED TONGUE). Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a wizard). This thick tome contains pages of thin, hammered copper and has thing covers of slate. It is held shut by a severed elven tongue. Occasionally, the attuned user of this spellbook finds messages that have been scrawled by someone claiming to be Netherese; this ghostly writer refers to itself simply as “the warlock” and frequently opines on the power of the one true god of magic: Mystryl. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Story Awards: Larloch’s Unblinking Gaze. “The warlock”—in truth, the Netherese lich Larloch—has taken an interest in you. You have already discovered that he can control undead creatures with but a thought and that he has a significant understanding of the way that the Weave works. This may work for or against you in future encounters with Larloch and his agents.

Lore of the Ages. The corrupted lorenorn Quaryl Tellasarim had amassed a wealth of arcane knowledge over the years. The tomes are worth a fair amount to collectors, but as they are first-hand accounts of direct interactions with the Weave the scholars and acolytes of Candlekeep would give a counter offer: a tenday of access to the great library’s vast resources in exchange for a full set of 6 tomes of a given school of magic. Alternately, you can turn in 3 sets of tomes in to Candlekeep in exchange for a 7th-level spell scroll of your choosing from an Adventurers League-approved source. If you attempt to surrender forgeries or duplicate copies to the acolytes at Candlekeep they will quickly discover your ruse. You will be ejected from Candlekeep until such time as you make a 10,000 gp donation or discover another campaign-approved method of removing this penalty.

Myth Drannor Explorer. You have entered the ruins of Myth Drannor and survived to tell the tale. While this is still considered a holy place for elves across Faerûn, others may be keenly interested in hearing of your exploits. When you stay at a tavern in a large city (such as the Yawning Portal in Waterdeep), you may make a DC 18 Charisma (Persuasion) check; if successful your drinks and lodging are paid for by the other patrons. If unsuccessful, you are stuck with the bar tab for everyone that night. High-ranking elves may have a dim view of your unsanctioned activities in Myth Drannor. At your DM’s discretion, your Charisma-based skill checks are made with disadvantage when dealing with elf nobles and very strong spellcasters.

2019-01-17 12:03 CCCROZK01-02 Zhentarim's Lament 1 -40 Tome of Leadership and influence Show

Unlock: 'Tome of Leadership and influence' (H)

Story Reward: Nature of the Weave. You have uncovered a series of tomes written by the archmage, Manshoon. By spending 50 downtime days, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you are already proficient in Arcana, you double your proficiency when making checks with the skill.

Unlock: Tome of Leadership and Influence. The red leather that covers this tome is embossed with a smiling man with a third eye. This book contains guidelines for influencing and charming others, and its words are charged with magic. If you spend 48 hours over a period of 6 days or fewer studying the book’s contents and practicing its guidelines, your Charisma score increases by 2, as does your maximum for that score. The manual then loses its magic, but regains it in a century. A description of this item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide (pg. 208).

Item: Eagle's Splendor. One yellow candy that tastes of lemon and sugar, which acts as eagle’s splendor, as per the spell scroll of enhance ability.

Item: Potion of Superior Healing. Enhance Ability: Bear.

Unlock: Mace of Smiting. This head of the mace of smiting features an angry dwarven face. The specter of Reizzlerum Caskview still maintains a connection to the weapon, causing the owner to gain an unending thirst for ale. Weapon (mace), rare You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The bonus increases to +3 when you use the mace to attack a construct. When you roll a 20 on an attack roll made with this weapon, the target takes an extra 7 bludgeoning damage, or an extra 14 bludgeoning damage if it's a construct. If a construct has 25 hit points or fewer after taking this damage, it is destroyed.

Story Award: Endless Bluetooth Ale. If a way was discovered to set up a supply of the blue lichen to the Yawning Portal, Durnan provides all the Bluetooth Ale the characters can drink whenever they visit. Brewed from the blue lichen grown on the skeletons of dwarves left for dead in the Stonebone Mines, bluetooth ale is a truly unique beverage. The strong dwarven-style ale is a rich sapphire color, and has a faint earthy taste. While the ale lacks most of the special properties of the blue lichen, it still can turn the imbibers teeth (and bones) temporarily blue. The ale functions as an ingested poison. The drinker must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or find that their bones and teeth turn a dark shade of blue for 24 hours.

2019-01-01 11:16 DDHC-TYP Chapter 4: White Plume Mountain 1 10 Mantle of Spell Resistance, Blackrazor Show

Unlock: Boots of Striding and Springing. Wondrous, Uncommon, Minor. Requires Attunement. While you wear these boots, your walking speed becomes 30 feet, unless your walking speed is higher, and your speed isn't reduced if you are encumbered or wearing heavy armor. In addition, you can jump three times the normal distance, though you can't jump farther than your remaining movement would allow.

Unlock: Armor of Vulnerability (Slashing). Heavy Armor (Plate Armor), Major, Rare. Requires Attunement. While wearing this armor, you have resistance to slashing damage. Curse. This armor is cursed, a fact that is revealed only when an identify spell is cast on the armor or you attune to it. Attuning to the armor curses you until you are targeted by the remove curse spell or similar magic; removing the armor fails to end the curse. While cursed you have vulnerability to bludgeoning and piercing damage. The wearer has disadvantage on Stealth (Dexterity) checks. If the wearer has a Strength score lower than 15, their speed is reduced by 10 feet.

Unlock: Ring of Spell Storing. Ring, Rare, Major. Requires Attunement. This ring stores spells cast into it, holding them until the attuned wearer uses them. The ring can store up to 5 levels worth of spells at a time. When found, it contains two mirror image spells in it. Any creature can cast a spell of 1st through 5th level into the ring by touching the ring as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored in the ring. If the ring can't hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect. The level of the slot used to cast the spell determines how much space it uses. While wearing this ring, you can cast any spell stored in it. The spell uses the slot level, spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the original caster, but is otherwise treated as if you cast the spell. The spell cast from the ring is no longer stored in it, freeing up space.

Unlock: Goggles of Night. Wondrous Item, Uncommon, Minor. While wearing these dark lenses, you have darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision. wearing the goggles increases its range by 60 feet.

Unlock: Stone of Good Luck. Wondrous Item, Uncommon, Major, Attunement. While this polished agate is on your person, you gain a +1 bonus to ability checks and saving throws.

Unlock: Ring of Protection. Ring, Uncommon, Major. Requires Attunement. You gain a +1 bonus to AC and saving throws while wearing this ring.

Story Award: Free use of the raise dead or greater restoration spell.

Unlock: Circlet of Human Perfection. Wondrous item, uncommon. Only humanoids can attune to it. The circlet transforms its attuned wearer into an attractive human of average height and weight. The circlet chooses the physical characteristics of the form, such as age, gender, skin color, hair color and voice. Except for size, the wearer's statistics and racial traits don't change, nor do items worn or carried by the wearer. Removing the circlet ends the effect.

This wand has 7 Charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its Charges to cast the Lightning Bolt spell (save DC 15) from it. For 1 charge, you cast the 3rd-level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend. The wand regains 1d6 + 1 expended Charges daily at dawn. Unlock: Ioun Stone of Reserve. Rather than appearing as a prism like a normal ioun stone of its type, however, this purple gem is cut like a coin, with a face on each side. One is an elf woman whose long hair has a ruby tint, and the other is an older dwarf in a helm bearing the symbol of the dwarf god Clangeddin Silverbeard. In darkness, one can see ghostly shapes trailing after the coin-like jewel as it moves. When a spell is cast into the stone, the caster hears a male and female voice arguing. When a spell is unleashed from it, the same voices are heard chanting in unison by the user. Anyone attuned to this item receives to +1 bonus on Charisma (Persuasion) checks to resolve conflict or calm emotions. Research indicates this item was known as the Peacemaker’s Coin in the old dwarf kingdom of Roldilar, where it belonged to the human mage and dwarf ally Beldossan the Short."

Story Award: Founding Landowner. Spend 1,000 gp and 30 downtime days to obtain this award, which marks you as a resident of Ylraphon. You are the owner of a 10-foot by 10-foot room in town which you can call entirely your own, which contains a bed, one chest, two chairs, and a very small table. In addition, while adventuring in the Ylraphon area, you can reduce the cost of a comfortable, wealthy, or aristocratic lifestyle by 2 gp per day (to a minimum of 1 gp per day).

Story Award: Local Pursuit. You have become involved with a local institution in Ylraphon. You may choose one (and only one) of the “Local Pursuit” story award options described in Player Handout 5Y: Local Pursuits for successfully completing this adventure. This signifies your character having the opportunity to become more involved with day-to-day life and significant institutions in Ylraphon. You may gain only one of the story award options listed for completing this adventure, though you may later gain additional ones if other adventures grant these story award options.

Story Award: Ylraphon Adventurer's Guide. You may join the Ylraphon Adventurers Guild if you either obtain one of the Local Pursuit story awards (as described above) or are willing to pay 50 gp initial dues as described in Player Handout 5Z: The Ylraphon Adventurers Guild. This grants access to the Guild Delving downtime activity described in that handout, as well as other benefits to be seen in future modules set in Ylraphon.

2019-04-16 18:10 DDAL00-02F The Definition of Heroism 1 5 0.5 Quaryl's Codex (Tome of the Stilled Tongue) Show

2019-01-17 12:03 CCCROZK01-02 Zhentarim's Lament 1 -40 1 Tome of Leadership and influence Show

2019-01-01 11:16 DDHC-TYP Chapter 4: White Plume Mountain 1 10 1 Mantle of Spell Resistance, Blackrazor Show
