Tojok ist in einer Bergarbeiterfamilie aufgewachsen und hat von Kindestagen an in der Mine gearbeitet. Bei einem Einsturz kam sein Vater ums Leben, der letzte Teil der Familie. Tojok lebte von da an in der großen Stadt Niewinter und schloss sich der Stadtwache an. Bei einer Razzia kam er in den Kontakt mit einem magischen Artifakt. Seit dem spukt es gelegentlich in Tojoks Umgebung. Gegenstände werden umgestoßen und einige Male schien er sogar doppelt zu existieren. Die Wache hielt ihn für verhext und meldete ihn in der nächsten Abenteuergilde an. Dort fand er auch sogleich einen Auftrag und machte sich auf den Weg.
