It illustrates a glum boring life she lived at the lighthouse. It mentions a crush she had on the captain of a sailing ship that regularly frequented the port. He however did not return her affection. It also details a meetings with a friendly woman that would stop by to sell her pecan pies. Her name was Hollybee de Wick. During one meeting with Hollybee, she confessed her love for the sailor that did not feel the same way. Upon her next meeting with the woman, she was presented with a solution. She was given two enchanted sewing pins. One of these pins would allow her to change her appearance at will for an hour a day. She was to use it every time the sailor was in port. When he finally began desiring her, she was to use the other pin to enchant him so he would succumb to her wishes without further delay. She jumped at the chance and took the gift eagerly. In exchange Alys was to share rumors she heard from sailors as they came to the port. An entry a few days later reports that the gift came with a dark consequence. For the disguise to work she had to rub a few fresh drops of blood on her to activate it, it could not be her blood. She was hurt at the secret clause and decided never to use the gift. Hollybee never came around again after that visit. After that significant event most of the other entries dictate a life lived in solitude and loneliness. Near the end of the book, a new man has entered her life and there are mentions of him taking her sailing which she had never done before. The entries become heartfelt and then abruptly stop with no more entries in the book beyond that. Valmoira Hopeblossom, architect of the land parchment is a spell scroll of Leomund’s tiny hut.
