A spell scroll bears the words of a single spell, written in a mystical cipher. If the spell is on your class's spell list, you can read the scroll and cast its spell without providing any material components. Otherwise, the scroll is unintelligible. Casting the spell by reading the scroll requires the spell's normal casting time. Once the spell is cast, the words on the scroll fade, and it crumbles to dust. If the casting is interrupted, the scroll is not lost.

If the spell is on your class’s spell list but of a higher level than you can normally cast, you must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability to determine whether you cast it successfully. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a failed check, the spell disappears from the scroll with no other effect.

A wizard spell on a spell scroll can be copied just as spells in spellbooks can be copied. When a spell is copied from a spell scroll, the copier must succeed on an Intelligence (Arcana) check with a DC equal to 10 + the spell’s level. If the check succeeds, the spell is successfully copied. Whether the check succeeds or fails, the spell scroll is destroyed.

Because things have gone awry when the characters get back to Elmwood, they cannot collect their 500 GP from the council or their free spellcasting service from Shayad. Give the PCs the “We owe you one!” story reward. They can exchange it for the gold and free spellcasting service in any future Elmwood adventure, provided that Shayad is alive.

You create an illusory copy of yourself that lasts for the duration. The copy can appear at any location within range that you have seen before, regardless of intervening obstacles. The illusion looks and sounds like you but is intangible. If the i⁠llusion takes any damage, it disappears, and the spell ends.

You can use your action to move this i⁠llusion up to twice your speed, and make it gesture, speak, and behave in whatever way you choose. It mimics your mannerisms perfectly.

You can see through its eyes and hear through its ears as if you were in its space. On your turn as a bonus action, you can switch from using its se⁠nses to using your own, or back again. While you are using its sen⁠ses, you are blinded and deafened in regard to your own surroundings.

Physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an ⁠illusion, because things can pass through it. A creature that uses its action to examine the image can determine that it is an illusion with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If a creature discerns the i⁠llusion for what it is, the creature can see through the image, and any noise it makes sounds hollow to the creature.

The Character´s blood is tainted, and they will always carry with them the scars of their adventure. If they like, at any future point, they can seek out the yuan-ti to exploit this connection and transform into a yuan-ti pureblood, keeping their ability scores but losing their current racial features and gaining:

Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can´t discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.

Innate Spellcasting: You know the poison spraw cantrip. You can cast animal friendship an unlimited number of times with this trait, but you can target only snakes with it.

Starting at 3rd level, you can also cast suggestion with this trait. Once you cast it you can´t do so again until you finish a long rest.

Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Magic Resistance. You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Poison Immunity. You are immune to posion damage and the poisoned condition.
