Downtime Activity: Escape the Mists

A character with the Demiplane of Dread story award can gain the Escape the Mists story award after paying 20 Downtime days to leave Ravenloft.

All items mixed together and boiled on high heat for four hours and simmered on low heat for eight hours, stirred occasionally with the Mage Hand cantrip. Once the mixture has cooled, a Wizard's spellbook is immersed within the liquid for 24 hours. The book is then removed and must dry for 72 hours. The final product is an Enduring Spellbook.

Copying Spells.
If you can copy spells, you may use the rules presented in the “Your Spellbook” sidebar in the Player’s Handbook to copy spells found in adventures, except it costs 1 downtime day for each spell up to 4th level and 2 downtime days for each spell 5th level and above. If you are copying spells from another character’s spellbook, you may do so immediately after a session of play in which both characters were present. You are always successful at copying spells from scrolls.
For each level of the spell, the process takes 2 hours and costs 50 gp.

By saving the dryad Kaltensendra and the oak tree that is their home, you have gain the favor of the sprites of Cormanthor. As they spread tales of your deeds, you gain advantage Charisma checks when dealing with the sprites in Cormanthor.
