our final session of Rime of the Frostmaiden ! :(

*following her adventures in Ythryn, Andromache journeys to Neverwinter to reconcile with her family ... to a certain extent. Most importantly, she will formally renounce her claim to the d’Issir inheritance and make peace with her little sister, seeing in her the promise of a half-elf Rugrat. While in Neverwinter, she will put her treasure funds towards commissioning a manuscript of her adventures in the north. Once the manuscript is complete, she will make four copies : one to leave with her family, one to send to Candlekeep on Mai’s behalf, one to keep for herself, and one to give away during her travels. With her two copies in hand and this business settled, she will return to her true home in the mountains of Icewind Dale. There, she will get to know Wealbro better and strive to better serve the cause of good in the name of Kharash.

PS : apparently, Quar tossed a magic item to Andromache just before parting ways.

The first time a barbarian, fighter, monk, or ranger touches the spear, the light around the spear fades as Vlagomir’s spark bestows the following supernatural charm on the character :

we explored the basement of Grimskälle, passed the four tests (cruelty, endurance, solitude, preservation), and retrieved the Codicle of White. Bobby, Maverick, and Belwarp tempted death when invited to receive the blessing of Auril : Bobby failed and was turned into a big ice cube. Maverick and Belwarp succeeded, gaining immunity to cold damage and the ability to cast Cone of Cold once per long rest. Andromache was thoroughly repulsed by the test of cruelty, and desperately seeks guidance from Kharash on how to persevere in this evil region.

The party fought well, defeated her first two forms, then nearly died when she enshrouded herself in a snowstorm and called on her roc to help her. Andromache fell, but was healed by Mai just in time.
She let off two parting shots at the roc before falling backwards off the tower, trusting her baby roc chick to cast feather fall and save them both. Auril invited the party to rest, retrieve the grimoire, and leave. We took the long rest.
