As the party gathers to decide thier next steps, several townsfolk approach with requests and advice. Deciding that tracking down the Weevil and visiting Queen Dagnabbit seems to be their Best bet, the party sets off towards the south west. First order of business, however, is destroying the last of the Frost giants that still threaten the town of Bryn Shander. Quick thinking and tactical use of abilities turns an encounter that could have been deadly into something manageable and our intrepid adventurers win the day.

Characters make their way to make contact with the dwarves of ironmaster in hopes of providing aid to the city of brynn shander - while they were turned away from the city itself, their contact provided a lead on a griffon trainer in fireshear. Upon hearing the word GRIFFON, the party left the poor dwarf standing thier looking at thier backs as they hurried toward thier fate.

With some fast talking, they convince the trainer in fireshear that they are worthy of being trained. During thier stay, they town is raided by Frost giants. the giants are carrying off wood and construction materials to thier longship moored in the harbour. The protectors of the north do what they do best and kill some more Giants... enough that the rest of the raiding force decides that to pull out and go looking for softer targets. Once again our fearless adventurers are heros and word of thier exploits spreads even more...

Having Been contact by the griffon trainer through sending stones to her old comrades in the Waterdeep, lord Roaringhorn makes his way to Fireshear to meet the Protectors of the North. He comends them and tells them that both the lords alliance and the harpers have been watching thier efforts in Nightstone, Bryn Shander, and now Fireshear. He brings rewards in the form of magical weapons and armour as a reward. And lets them know that the factions approve of thier current quest to track down The Weevil. He takes the young Cimber scion under his wing and returns with him to Waterdeep where he will be safe from the Frost giants... for now

The party finishes thier Griffon riding training and heads toward Xanathars Keep. on the morning of thier last day of travel, they notice a small farming community that has recently been attacked and is on fire. after further investigation, they follow the raiders into a nearby forest, finding that the villagers and all of thier livestock have been Bagged up and carted off. Doing what they do best, our worthy adventureres slay the giants and free the citizens. they are rewarded with a Cloak of elvenkind and a ring of protection.

While the harpers in the party take one last night flight on their griffons…

The rest of the party pulls into Xanathar’s keep and begins looking for their prey… Worvil the weevil. After much back and forth with the bartender of the only Inn in the small town, the party comes to believe that “lurg” the dishwasher could very well be the Weevil. But, it appears that he made the party as they approached and has skipped town. While doing some investigation and finding a suspicious map to what appears to be a barbarian burial grounds with a large X the two is suddenly attacked by a Fire giant and several ogres and hobgoblins who lay siege to the walls from a distance.

While the townsfolk and garrison rush off to defend the walls, a small party of hobgoblins find our intrepid adventurers going through the Weevils things. The natural thing happens and everyone gets aggressive. True to their bloodthirsty nature, the Defenders of the North… Defend… the hobgoblins to death, including one who was running away, he gets… Defended… in the back with two arrows.

Shortly after the back ally fight with the hobgoblins, the fire giant and his siege crew retreat. While the town rejoices and congratulates themselves, it is obvious to our brave crew that they attack was just a distraction and that the hobgoblins were after the Weevil as well.

The townsfolk relay a message that the Defenders presence is requested in Mirabar, where all of the dwarven kings and queens have gathered for meeting to discuss happenings in the north.

Looking for information on the whereabouts of the map they found, the party goes to the lionsheild Coster to enquire if they have any idea where the mysterious island that seems to be in the shape of a Pegasus could be. They find that this is the location of the burial mounds of the Sky Pony Uthgardt clan and a very dangerous place to venture.

Shortly after leaving the town on their way to investigate, they are set upon by a hobgoblin waving a white flag of truce. Turns out they were right and the Giant was after the weevil as well. Through much conversation they find that the weevil has been working for the fire giants. Collecting pieces of an ancient artifact called the Vonindod. The weevil seems to have double crossed the Fire giant and he came looking for him. After much parlay, the party offers to track down Worvil for him.

And that is where we being our next episode…

Players ignored warnings to enter the forest.
players found dead dwarf, riddled with arrows carrying an exact copy of the map they found in the weeval's loft - found he was not the Weeval.
Players intruded on sacred barial ground of the skypoints and stayed in a graveyard after sunset - even with repeated hints that the sun was going down .
Players found the corpses of an adventuring crew that died with no obvious sources of injury - also carrying an exact copy of the Weevil Map...
Players assaulted by a Banshee and two Poltergeists.. because its an ancient graveyard...
Players proceed to steel an ancient relic from the island in the form of a big rock that can change the weather and shrink into a bowling ball.
Upon trying to abscond with thier loot, the Protectors of the North run into the rightful owners of said giant rock and burial ground and Protect them to death. Protecting thier oathbow into the hands of four leaf.

Our grave cleric convinces them to bury the bodies on the island and then they make their way towards the road and mirabar.

Rejoined by Xanaphia the Protectors make their way to Mirabar.

Along the road they are starting to see signs of the chaos that is gripping the north. Refugees are streaming in from all corners of the countryside with similar stories:

->Hill giants stealing everything edible in site.
->Frost giants raiding along the coast.
-> Fire giants laying siege to towns and cities and demanding relics forgotten about by the elders
->stone giants tearing down current buildings and re-building structures long forgotten
-> Several reports of "floating castles or towers"

After a strange encounter with Felgolos the strange bronze dragon who drops a stolen wagon full of weapons on top of a group of hobgoblins harassing some refugees, the party finally makes it to Mirabar.

They are expected and are ushered quickly into the presence of the Marchion of Mirabar, who takes a break from meetings with the other leaders of the dwarven Kingdoms to meet with them in the throne room. Unfortunatly for him, it turns out that his elite guard have been posessed by Yakfolk, and they take this opportunity to assassinate him, and take out the party. The Protectors, along with a strange bugbear that was also invited to the meeting, fight off the posessed Gaurds and their yakfolk interlopers and finish them off just in time for the quick thinking cleric to Revivify the Marchion.
The session comes to a close with the party trying to explain themselves to the legendary figure Bruenor Battlehammer, three time king of Mithral hall and reborn king of Gauntlegrym. Once again our cleric proves resourceful, and by speaking with the dead yakfolk and Gaurds, They are able to discern that the Weevil poisoned the guards and allowed the Yakfolk to infiltrate the keep.

He takes the young Cimber scion under his wing and returns with him to Waterdeep where he will be safe from the Frost giants... for now

The party finishes thier Griffon riding training and heads toward Xanathars Keep. on the morning of thier last day of travel, they notice a small farming community that has recently been attacked and is on fire. after further investigation, they follow the raiders into a nearby forest, finding that the villagers and all of thier livestock have been Bagged up and carted off. Doing what they do best, our worthy adventureres slay the giants and free the citizens. they are rewarded with a Cloak of elvenkind and a ring of protection.

While the harpers in the party take one last night flight on their griffons…

The rest of the party pulls into Xanathar’s keep and begins looking for their prey… Worvil the weevil. After much back and forth with the bartender of the only Inn in the small town, the party comes to believe that “lurg” the dishwasher could very well be the Weevil. But, it appears that he made the party as they approached and has skipped town. While doing some investigation and finding a suspicious map to what appears to be a barbarian burial grounds with a large X the two is suddenly attacked by a Fire giant and several ogres and hobgoblins who lay siege to the walls from a distance.

While the townsfolk and garrison rush off to defend the walls, a small party of hobgoblins find our intrepid adventurers going through the Weevils things. The natural thing happens and everyone gets aggressive. True to their bloodthirsty nature, the Defenders of the North… Defend… the hobgoblins to death, including one who was running away, he gets… Defended… in the back with two arrows.

Shortly after the back ally fight with the hobgoblins, the fire giant and his siege crew retreat. While the town rejoices and congratulates themselves, it is obvious to our brave crew that they attack was just a distraction and that the hobgoblins were after the Weevil as well.

The townsfolk relay a message that the Defenders presence is requested in Mirabar, where all of the dwarven kings and queens have gathered for meeting to discuss happenings in the north.

Looking for information on the whereabouts of the map they found, the party goes to the lionsheild Coster to enquire if they have any idea where the mysterious island that seems to be in the shape of a Pegasus could be. They find that this is the location of the burial mounds of the Sky Pony Uthgardt clan and a very dangerous place to venture.

Shortly after leaving the town on their way to investigate, they are set upon by a hobgoblin waving a white flag of truce. Turns out they were right and the Giant was after the weevil as well. Through much conversation they find that the weevil has been working for the fire giants. Collecting pieces of an ancient artifact called the Vonindod. The weevil seems to have double crossed the Fire giant and he came looking for him. After much parlay, the party offers to track down Worvil for him.

Deciding that working with a fire giant was a bad idea, the party took advantage of the sudden disappearance of sir woodheart and circled back to confront the the giant and claim his head.

Players ignored warnings to enter the forest.
players found dead dwarf, riddled with arrows carrying an exact copy of the map they found in the weeval's loft - found he was not the Weeval.
Players intruded on sacred barial ground of the skypoints and stayed in a graveyard after sunset - even with repeated hints that the sun was going down .
Players found the corpses of an adventuring crew that died with no obvious sources of injury - also carrying an exact copy of the Weevil Map...
Players assaulted by a Banshee and two Poltergeists.. because its an ancient graveyard...
Players proceed to steel an ancient relic from the island in the form of a big rock that can change the weather and shrink into a bowling ball.
Upon trying to abscond with thier loot, the Protectors of the North run into the rightful owners of said giant rock and burial ground and Protect them to death. Protecting thier oathbow into the hands of four leaf.

Our grave cleric convinces them to bury the bodies on the island and then they make their way towards the road and mirabar.

Rejoined by Xanaphia the Protectors make their way to Mirabar.

Along the road they are starting to see signs of the chaos that is gripping the north. Refugees are streaming in from all corners of the countryside with similar stories:

->Hill giants stealing everything edible in site.
->Frost giants raiding along the coast.
-> Fire giants laying siege to towns and cities and demanding relics forgotten about by the elders
->stone giants tearing down current buildings and re-building structures long forgotten
-> Several reports of "floating castles or towers"

After a strange encounter with Felgolos the strange bronze dragon who drops a stolen wagon full of weapons on top of a group of hobgoblins harassing some refugees, the party finally makes it to Mirabar.

They are expected and are ushered quickly into the presence of the Marchion of Mirabar, who takes a break from meetings with the other leaders of the dwarven Kingdoms to meet with them in the throne room. Unfortunatly for him, it turns out that his elite guard have been posessed by Yakfolk, and they take this opportunity to assassinate him, and take out the party. The Protectors, along with a strange bugbear that was also invited to the meeting, fight off the posessed Gaurds and their yakfolk interlopers and finish them off just in time for the quick thinking cleric to Revivify the Marchion.
The session comes to a close with the party trying to explain themselves to the legendary figure Bruenor Battlehammer, three time king of Mithral hall and reborn king of Gauntlegrym. Once again our cleric proves resourceful, and by speaking with the dead yakfolk and Gaurds, They are able to discern that the Weevil poisoned the guards and allowed the Yakfolk to infiltrate the keep.
