Pipe of Remembrances
Wondrous item, common (unique)

This long, delicate wooden pipe features a bowl made from smooth river stone. When the pipe is lit, smoke exhaled from it does not dissipate, instead lingering around the bearer. After 10 minutes, the smoke forms moving shapes that reenact a scene of the bearer’s choosing from the stories it has been told. When this realistic performance is complete, the smoke dissipates. A new story or likeness may be added to the pipe’s repertoire if the bearer smokes the pipe while relaying a tale or describing a companion. The pipe can’t be used this way again until the next dawn.

Notes:

Requires Attunement by a Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard

This staff can be wielded as a magic Quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to Attack and Damage Rolls made with it. While holding it, you gain a +2 bonus to Armor Class, Saving Throws, and spell Attack Rolls.

The staff has 20 Charges for the following Properties. The staff regains 2d8 + 4 expended Charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff retains its +2 bonus to Attack and damage roll but loses all other Properties. On a 20, the staff regain 1d8 + 2 Charges.

Power Strike: When you hit with a melee Attack using the staff, you can expend 1 charge to deal an extra 1d6 force damage to the target.

Spells: While holding this staff, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its Charges to cast one of the following Spells from it, using your spell save DC and spell Attack bonus: Cone of Cold (5 charges), Fireball (5th-level version, 5 charges), Globe of Invulnerability (6 charges), Hold Monster (5 charges), Levitate (2 charges). Lightning Bolt (5th-level version, 5 charges), Magic Missile (1 charge), Ray of Enfeeblement (1 charge), or Wall of Force (5 charges).

Retributive Strike: You can use an action to break the staff over your knee or against a solid surface, performing a retributive strike. The staff is destroyed and releases its remaining magic in an explosion that expands to fill a 30-foot-radius Sphere centered on it.

You have a 50 percent chance to instantly Travel to a random plane of existence, avoiding the explosion. If you fail to avoid the Effect, you take force damage equal to 16 x the number of Charges in the staff. Every other creature in the area must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes an amount of damage based on how far away it is from the point of Origin, as shown in the following table. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage.

Distance from Origin — Damage:
10 ft. away or closer — 8 x the number of Charges in the staff
11 to 20 ft. away — 6 x the number of Charges in the staff
21 to 30 ft. away — 4 x the number of Charges in the staff

Grey Robe of the Archmagi legendary Trade Log Show
Notes:

Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement by a sorcerer, wizard, or warlock)

Originally crafted during the height of the Netherese Empire, this robe is a warm gray color and very plush. It is stitched with silver thread and the back is covered by Rhaugilath’s arcane sigil mixed with the sign of Mystryl.

This elegant garment is made from exquisite cloth of white, gray, or black and adorned with silvery runes. The robe's color corresponds to the Alignment for which the item was created. A white robe was made for good, gray for neutral, and black for evil. You can't attune to a robe of the archmagi that doesn't correspond to your Alignment.

You gain these benefits while wearing the robe:

• If you aren't wearing armor, your base Armor Class is 15 + your Dexterity modifier.

• You have advantage on Saving Throws against spell and other magical Effects

The manual then loses its magic, but regains it in a century

Staff of the Magi legendary DDAL07-17 - Cauldron of Sapphire Show
Notes:

Quarterstaff, Major, Legendary (Requires Attunement by a Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard)
Table I

Weight: 4 lbs.

This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. While you hold it, you gain a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls.

The staff has 50 charges for the following properties.

It regains 4d6+2 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a 1d20. On a 20, the staff regains 1d12+1 charges.

Spell Absorption:

While holding the staff, you have advantage on saving throws against spells.
In addition, you can use your reaction when another creature casts a spell that targets only you. If you do, the staff absorbs the magic of the spell, canceling its effect and gaining a number of charges equal to the absorbed spell's level.
However, if doing so brings the staff's total number of charges above 50, the staff explodes as if you activated its retributive strike (see below).
Spells:

While holding the staff, you can use an action to expend some of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC and spellcasting ability:

conjure elemental (7 charges)
dispel magic (3 charges)
fireball (7th-level version, 7 charges)
flaming sphere (2 charges)
ice storm (4 charges)

You can also use an action to cast one of the following spells from the staff without using any charges:

Retributive Strike:

You can use an action to break the staff over your knee or against a solid surface, performing a retributive strike.

Distance from Origin Damage
10 ft. away or closer 8 x the number of charges in the staff

Anstruth Harp very_rare DDHC-DMM Dungeon of the Mad Mage Level 23: Mad Wizard’s Lair Show
Notes:

An instrument of the bards is an exquisite example of its kind, superior to an ordinary instrument in every way. Seven types of these instruments exist, each named after a legendary bard college. A creature that attempts to play the instrument without being attuned to it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or take 2d4 psychic damage. You can use an action to play the instrument and cast one of its spells: Fly, Invisibility, Levitate, Protection from Evil and Good, Control Weather, Cure Wounds (5th level), Wall of Thorns. Once the instrument has been used to cast a spell, it can’t be used to cast that spell again until the next dawn. The spells use your spellcasting ability and spell save DC. You can play the instrument while casting a spell that causes any of its targets to be charmed on a failed saving throw, thereby imposing disadvantage on the save. This effect applies only if the spell has a somatic or a material component.

Rod of Lordly Might legendary DDHC-DMM Dungeon of the Mad Mage Level 23: Mad Wizard’s Lair Show
Notes:

This rod has a flanged head, and it functions as a magic mace that grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage roll made with it. The rod has properties associated with six different buttons that are set in a row along the haft. It has three other properties as well, detailed below. Six Buttons: You can press one of the rod's six buttons as a bonus action. A button's effect lasts until you push a different button or until you push the same button again, which causes the rod to revert to its normal form. If you press button 1, the rod becomes a flame tongue as a fiery blade sprouts from the end opposite the rod's flanged head. If you press button 2, the rod's flanged head folds down and two crescent-shaped blades spring out, transforming the rod into a magic battleaxe that grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. If you press button 3, the rod's flanged head folds down, a spear point springs from the rod's tip, and the rod's handle lengthens into a 6-foot haft, transforming the rod into a magic spear that grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage Rolls made with it. If you press button 4, the rod transforms into a climbing pole up to 50 feet long, as you specify. In surfaces as hard as granite, a spike at the bottom and three hooks at the top anchor the pole. Horizontal bars 3 inches long fold out from the sides, 1 foot apart, forming a ladder. The pole can bear up to 4,000 pounds. More weight or lack of solid anchoring causes the rod to revert to its normal form. If you press button 5, the rod transforms into a handheld battering ram and gram its user a +10 bonus to Strength checks made to break through doors, barricades, and other barriers. If you press button 6, the rod assumes or remains in its normal form and indicates magnetic north. (Nothing happens if this function of the rod is used in a location that has no magnetic north.) The rod also gives you knowledge of your approximate depth beneath the ground or your height above it. Drain Life: When you hit a creature with a melee attack using the rod, you can force the target to make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target rakes an extra 4d6 necrotic damage, and you regain a number of hit points equal to half that necrotic damage. This property can't be used again until the next dawn. Paralyze: When you hit a creature with a melee attack using the rod, you can force the target to make a DC 17 Strength saving throw. On a failure, the target is paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. This property can't be used again until the next dawn. Terrify: While holding the rod, you can use an action to force each creature you can see within 30 feet of you to make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, a target is frightened of you for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. This property can't be used again until the next dawn.
