Reynadine emerges from the mists of Barovia to discover the Network he'd been employed by in Hillsfar is now embroiled in a war with Thay. After three years stuck in Orasnou, Barovia, Reynadine has lost all points of contact in the Zhentarim and knows of no Safe Haven.

He removes a coin, scratched with the winged serpent, from his belt and drops it into a beggar's cup. With a whispered word to his armor, the glamour of the Zhentarim badge fades from his shoulder, and the bard turns his cart and pulls out of town...
