Case 004 Location: Daggerford. Employer: Guard Veteran Alekka Golt & travelling merchant Illan Darossi. Assignment: Determine and resolve whatever is stealing the local livestock. Rumor points to an ogre or giant. Nearby Farmer reported 10 kine missing & noise of something large and landborne in the trees, but did not see perpetrator. Theft 3 days past Initial evidence is inconsistent with ogre or hill giant behavior, though large bipedal tracks found near fence line. Tracking herd's hoofprints, we find all ten cattle slaughtered in the forest with a small sharp implement. No sign of butchering or significant consumption of beef. Recovered destroyed wooden apparatus designed to create large, false foot impressions. Implication is humanoids perpetrated and framed giantkin. Hours later we are met by Storm Giant Trocious, envoy of Maelstrom's Queen Serissa. He provides testimony of Thayan conspiracy to sow discord between Giants & Sword Coast "smallfolk." On return to Daggerford, Merchant Illan Derossi attempts to incite a mob against our group and Envoy Trocious, but inadvertantly implicates himself and reveals he is a Thayan Agent. Combat ensued. Thayan mage and 6 thugs casualties. Merchant Derossi arrested & confessed. Job Complete. + one potion of Hill Giant Strength
