Immovable Rod. Rod, uncommon. This flat iron rod has a button on one end. You can use an action to press the button, which causes the rod to become magically fixed in place. Until you or another creature uses an action to push the button again, the rod doesn't move, even if it is defying gravity. The rod can hold up to 8,000 pounds of weight. More weight causes the rod to deactivate and fall. A creature can use an action to make a DC 30 Strength check, moving the fixed rod up to 10 feet on a success.

Velahr’Kerym (Flame Tongue Longsword). Weapon, rare (requires attunement). This longsword is crafted of mithril with a beautiful hilt of carved ironwood. The crossguard, blade, and hilt are worked through with a forest motif inlaid with shining emeralds and platinum filigree. Delicate blue flames dance along the blade whenever it is drawn from its scabbard. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Ring of Fire Resistance. Ring, rare (requires attunement). You have resistance to fire damage type while wearing this ring. This item is found on Magic Item Table G in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. This simple ring of twisted brass wire is warm to the touch.

DDEX03-07 Herald of the Moon. This adventure features an item that is no longer acceptable under D&D Adventurers League guidelines, as it deviates from the attunement standards in the DMG. Instead of Shadowsong, this adventure instead unlocks a +2 weapon (longbow or shortbow). This +2 weapon has the sentinel property and glows dimly in the presence of humans.

Rope of Entanglement. Wondrous Item, rare. This rope is fashioned from a 30-foot length of wilted, thorny vine. Upon entangling a creature that isn’t undead or a construct, the thorns dig into its target’s flesh and appear to feed—the vine grows green, its leaves become full and vibrant, and colorful, aromatic flowers blossom along its length. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Faerie Dragon Wand (Wand of Magic Detection). Wand, uncommon. This wand was crafted from the iridescent shell of the newly hatched Faerie Dragon, Hugh Fearnheart. The sound of wind chimes can be heard whenever it is used.

The bearer can use a bonus action to cause the item to shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet, or to extinguish the light. The entirety of this morning star is made of pure amethyst. The head has a glowing inner core, and its translucent, purplish spikes trail raw arcane energy when the morning star is swung.

Cloak of Many Fashions. Wondrous item, common. Waterborne. This item floats on water and other liquids. Its bearer has advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks to swim. This royal purple cloak floats freely in the air as if the law of gravity doesn't apply to it.

Wooden Broom (Quarterstaff +2). Weapon (quarterstaff), rare. Guardian. The broom fills its bearer with an intense urge to clean and sweep other creatures with it, granting a +2 bonus to initiative if the bearer isn't incapacitated. This unassuming broom was never meant to function as a weapon. The curious enchantment it holds is designed to enhance its durability to never wear out even after many years of use.

Instrument of Scribing. Wondrous item, common. This musical instrument has 3 charges. While you are playing it, you can use an action to expend 1 charge from the instrument and write a magical message on a nonmagical object or surface that you can see within 30 feet of you. The message can be up to six words long and is written in a language you know. If you are a bard, you can scribe an additional seven words and choose to make the message glow faintly, allowing it to be seen in nonmagical darkness. Casting dispel magic on the message erases it. Otherwise, the message fades away after 24 hours.
