+1 Splint Armor. Armor, rare. This fine suit of armor has dwarven runes etched upon it. The runes describe the glories of great battles in the North against orcs. The armor glows faintly when within 100 feet of orcs. A description of this item can be found in the Dungeon Master's Guide

Mmm… Tastes Like Sanity. You are given one small, untreated braincap mushroom. When consumed or administered to someone else as an action, the mushroom acts as a greater restoration, but only as it pertains to reducing the recipient's madness level to 0. The braincap mushrooms are potent, however, and if you consume more than one per adventure, you immediately gain 1d4 levels of madness (no saving throw). Cross this story reward off of your adventure log when used.

In League with the Seer. You have made a deal with the Sacred Seer--a myconid in the service of Zuggtmoy--to aid in the battle against the giants of Maerimydra. Hopefully, you will not regret this rather foolish choice.

Half-Plate of Poison Resistance. Armor (half plate), rare (requires attunement). This non-metal half-plate is constructed of petrified giant mushrooms. The wearer feels fortunate and optimistic about what the future holds. A description of this item can be found in the Dungeon Master's Guide.

Treasure. Characters who survive the demilich's wrath can claim any loot they can carry. Inside the vault are these items:

• All items possessed by characters who were teleported nude
• Ninety-seven small gems worth 10 gp each
• Three huge gems-a 10,000 gp peridot, a 50,000 gp emerald, and a 100,000 gp black opal
• Four magic weapons- a defender, a sword of vengeance, a berserker axe, and a spear of backbiting (see appendix A)

In addition, the hoard contains several magic items of your choosing (except that none can be of legendary rarity), including:

• Twelve potions
• Six spell scrolls, each of a wizard spell of 5th level or lower
• One magic ring, one magic rod, one magic staff, and three wondrous items

This ends the expedition to the Tomb of Horrors. We hope you and your players have found it exciting, challenging, and rewarding.

Under the treasure subheading on page 227 of TYP, replace “(except that none can be of legendary rarity)” with: “(except all items must be located on magic item tables F, G, or H, and uncommon, rare, or very rare, and may include up to one manual or tome—it seems that the demilich’s library has long ago rotted away)”.

1. First Weapon Returned. Max gold for their level for each character in the party, and each character may choose five rare consumables (following normal rules for the number of pieces of magical ammunition). A character could, for example, choose 2 potions of superior healing, 2 spells scroll of greater restoration, and 1d6 +2 crossbow bolts.

3. Third Weapon Returned. Each character receives either a blessing of protection or a blessing of weapon enhancement (player choice) and when the character gains 17th level can claim one of these legendary items for their own use subject to the MIL restrictions.
