Occasionally, the attuned user of this spellbook finds messages that have been scrawled by someone claiming to be Netherese; this ghostly writer refers to itself simply as “the warlock” and frequently opines on the power of the one true god of magic: Mystryl. Larloch’s Unblinking Gaze. “The warlock”—in truth, the Netherese lich Larloch—has taken an interest in you. You have already discovered that he can control undead creatures with but a thought and that he has a significant understanding of the way that the Weave works. This may work for or against you in future encounters with Larloch and his agents.

Lore of the Ages. The corrupted lorenorn Quaryl Tellasarim had amassed a wealth of arcane knowledge over the years. The tomes are worth a fair amount to collectors, but as they are first-hand accounts of direct interactions with the Weave the scholars and acolytes of Candlekeep would give a counter offer: a tenday of access to the great library’s vast resources in exchange for a full set of 6 tomes of a given school of magic. Alternately, you can turn in 3 sets of tomes in to Candlekeep in exchange for a 7th-level spell scroll of your choosing from an Adventurers League-approved source. If you attempt to surrender forgeries or duplicate copies to the acolytes at Candlekeep they will quickly discover your ruse. You will be ejected from Candlekeep until such time as you make a 10,000 gp donation or discover another campaign-approved method of removing this penalty.

Myth Drannor Explorer. You have entered the ruins of Myth Drannor and survived to tell the tale. While this is still considered a holy place for elves across Faerûn, others may be keenly interested in hearing of your exploits. When you stay at a tavern in a large city (such as the Yawning Portal in Waterdeep), you may make a DC 18 Charisma (Persuasion) check; if successful your drinks and lodging are paid for by the other patrons. If unsuccessful, you are stuck with the bar tab for everyone that night. High-ranking elves may have a dim view of your unsanctioned activities in Myth Drannor. At your DM’s discretion, your Charisma-based skill checks are made with disadvantage when dealing with elf nobles and very strong spellcasters.

Love's Bite (Nine Lives Stealer). You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The sword has 1d8 + 1 charges. If you score a critical hit against a creature that has fewer than 100 hit points, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be slain instantly as the sword tears its life force from its body (a construct or an undead is immune). The sword loses 1 charge if the creature is slain. When the sword has no charges remaining, it loses this property. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. The blade of this elegantly-curved longsword is fashioned of silvery-blue steel gilt in gold. A strip of delicate paper hangs from the pommel, upon which is inscribed a breathtakingly beautiful poem. When the wielder scores a critical hit with the weapon, its heart is filled with the agonizing ache of spurned love.

A wizard of the school of divination may spend 200 downtime days to gain 1 additional portent dice. Any other character may spend 50 downtime days to gain 3 Luck Points and may use them as the Lucky feat. Once the 3 Luck Points are spent they are not regained.

Story Award: Hall of Honor. Characters can spend time in the hall of honor learning about the deeds of the ancient Ostorian Honor Guard. A character who spends 25 downtime days will gain advantage in dealings with true giants (Cloud, Hill, Fire, Stone, or Storm) when the subject of the Ostorian Honor Guard can be included in the conversation.

This lavender and green stone has been fashioned into the shape of a strange dragon; it has a long, sinewy neck, a body like a serpent, four stout legs, and two long whiskers that almost look like a mustache. This is what the dragons of far-off Shou Lung in Kara-Tur look like. While this marbled object orbits your head, you can use your reaction to cancel a spell of 8th level or lower cast by a creature you can see and targeting only you. Once the stone has canceled 50 levels of spells, it burns out and turns dull gray, losing its magic. If you are targeted by a spell whose level is higher than the umber of spell levels the stone has left, the stone can't cancel it.

Quaryl's Codex (Tome of the Stilled Tongue). Wondrous item, major tier, legendary (requires attunement by a wizard). This thick tome contains pages of thin, hammered copper and has thing covers of slate. It is held shut by a severed elven tongue. Occasionally, the attuned user of this spellbook finds messages that have been scrawled by someone claiming to be Netherese; this ghostly writer refers to itself simply as “the warlock” and frequently opines on the power of the one true god of magic: Mystryl. This item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Larloch’s Unblinking Gaze. “The warlock”—in truth, the Netherese lich Larloch—has taken an interest in you. You have already discovered that he can control undead creatures with but a thought and that he has a significant understanding of the way that the Weave works. This may work for or against you in future encounters with Larloch and his agents.

Lore of the Ages. The corrupted lorenorn Quaryl Tellasarim had amassed a wealth of arcane knowledge over the years. The tomes are worth a fair amount to collectors, but as they are first-hand accounts of direct interactions with the Weave the scholars and acolytes of Candlekeep would give a counter offer: a tenday of access to the great library’s vast resources in exchange for a full set of 6 tomes of a given school of magic. Alternately, you can turn in 3 sets of tomes in to Candlekeep in exchange for a 7th-level spell scroll of your choosing from an Adventurers League-approved source. If you attempt to surrender forgeries or duplicate copies to the acolytes at Candlekeep they will quickly discover your ruse. You will be ejected from Candlekeep until such time as you make a 10,000 gp donation or discover another campaign-approved method of removing this penalty.

Myth Drannor Explorer. You have entered the ruins of Myth Drannor and survived to tell the tale. While this is still considered a holy place for elves across Faerûn, others may be keenly interested in hearing of your exploits. When you stay at a tavern in a large city (such as the Yawning Portal in Waterdeep), you may make a DC 18 Charisma (Persuasion) check; if successful your drinks and lodging are paid for by the other patrons. If unsuccessful, you are stuck with the bar tab for everyone that night. High-ranking elves may have a dim view of your unsanctioned activities in Myth Drannor. At your DM’s discretion, your Charisma-based skill checks are made with disadvantage when dealing with elf nobles and very strong spellcasters.

The rod will transport you and up to six willing companions to a comfortable cabin with no exit save for the rod. The windows display a dark and foreboding forest, and a tallspired castle can be seen through the gloom. After 24 hours, you and your allies return to the exact location you left though you may choose to leave earlier. A description of this item can be found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Favored of the Worm. Any character that becameworm-infected during this adventure earns this story award. Their flesh is covered in small black pock marks; even illusion magic does not disguise their presence. These characters feel a bond with insects and bugs (worms specifically) and feels a kinship with undead creatures even though they may not be friendly

Ally of Thay. You are known to be an ally of the Thayan Plateau, whether you want to or not. You have advantage on Charisma-based checks with Red Wizards and other non-slaves from Thay, and at the DM’s discretion may have disadvantage when dealing with Harpers and other enemies of Thay.
