Unlike his longsword, this dagger was never meant for the battlefield alone, but for the quieter duties of a nobleman: cutting seals from letters, offering a final mercy to dying beasts, and—so the old tales say—serving as a last defense against the unnatural when honor and steel were no longer enough. The blade is slender and elegant, its silvering slightly dulled by age, yet still bright enough to catch candlelight like cold moonshine. The hilt is made of darkened wood, inlaid with fine silver lines shaped like lilies and a simple noble crest. Set into the pommel is a pale gray moonstone no larger than a fingernail.
