Woodcarvers, coopers, and bowyers Guild Membership As an established and respected member of a guild, you can rely on certain benefits that membership provides. Your fellow guild members will provide you with lodging and food if necessary, and pay for your funeral if needed. In some cities and towns, a guildhall offers a central place to meet other members of your profession, which can be a good place to meet potential patrons, allies, or hirelings. Guilds often wield tremendous political power. If you are accused of a crime, your guild will support you if a good case can be made for your innocence or the crime is justifiable. You can also gain access to powerful political figures through the guild, if you are a member in good standing. Such connections might require the donation of money or magic items to the guild's coffers. You must pay dues of 5 gp per month to the guild. If you miss payments, you must make up back dues to remain in the guild's good graces. Personality Traits: I like to talk at length about my profession. I’m well known for my work, and I want to make sure everyone appreciates it. I'm always taken aback when people haven’t heard of me. Ideals: Aspiration. Flaws: I’m horribly jealous of anyone who can outshine my handiwork. Everywhere I go, I’m surrounded by rivals. Backstory: Vor fast 90 Jahren wurde Baragor II. Fassbrecher in Waterdeep geboren, Sohn des Baragor Fassbrechers und der Balindys Fassbrecher. Schon in frühen Jahren wurde er dazu ermütigt, sich dem Handwerk seines Vaters zu widmen, mit Holz zu arbeiten und sich der Handwerksgilde der Holzschnitzer, Böttcher und Bogner anzuschließen. Etwas dem sich Baragor nur zu gerne widmete, sodass er all seine Zeit und Leidenschaft in die Arbeit mit Holz steckte. Andere Zwerge lachten, wie auch schon über seinen Vater, war Stein doch ein viel besseres, härteres Material, dem Holz bei weitem überlegen, doch Baragor erkannte die Vorzüge eines nachwachsenden Rohstoffes. So arbeitete er gründlich und ausgiebig um sich selbst einen Namen zu machen, nicht mehr nur im Schatten seines Vaters zu stehen. Die Schnitzereien des Baragor dem Zweiten wurden schon bald in ganz Waterdeep bekannt, doch dem Zwergen genügte dies nicht. Er wollte die Welt bereisen, sich mit anderen Meistern des Handwerks austauschen und irgendwann einmal der allerbeste sein, wie keiner vor ihm war. Dabei musste Baragor lernen, das die Welt außerhalb gefährlich war und man lernen musste, sich selbst zu verteidigen. Doch dies war für einen Tüftler wie ihn natürlich kein Problem. Beinahe vergaß er schon dabei schon, sich seinem eigentlichen Handwerk zu widmen, so viel Spaß hatte er an den Reisen, doch natürlich besann sich Baragor dann der wirklich wichtigen Dinge. Dem Schnitzen von Holz, allerdings reiste er noch immer, half anderen und verbreitete dabei die Kunde über seine glorreichen Schnitzereien.
