Nun, er versuchte es jedenfalls. Er diente einem der schwächsten Dämonen und suchte längst geplünderte Verliese auf, um diese neu herzurichten. Frustriert davon, dass eindringende Abenteurer immer die Oberhand gewannen, begann er mit dem Studium des Guten und des Heldentums, auf der Suche nach einer Schwachstelle. Die Bücher waren eindeutig, das Gute siegte immer. Er stand ganz einfach auf der falschen Seite!!! Als er bei seiner letzten Begegnung mit Abenteurern tödlich verletzt wurde, betete er zu guten Göttern und wurde überraschend erhört. So schloss Zhartus einen Pakt mit einer mächtigen Deva und machte sich auf, Gutes zu tun. Also, das was er für Gutes hielt. Sein Patron Izane, bestrebt darin Zhartus Seele zu retten, ahnte nicht, worauf sie sich da einließ.
