A spell scroll bears the words of a single spell, written in a mystical cipher. If the spell is on your class’s spell list, you can read the scroll and cast its spell without providing any material components. Otherwise, the scroll is unintelligible. Casting the spell by reading the scroll requires the spell’s normal casting time. Once the spell is cast, the words on the scroll fade, and it crumbles to dust. If the casting is interrupted, the scroll is not lost. If the spell is on your class’s spell list but of a higher level than you can normally cast, you must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability to determine whether you cast it successfully. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a failed check, the spell disappears from the scroll with no other effect. The saving throw DC for this spell is DC 13. This item is found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. The spell is found in Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frost Maiden. The holy writing of the hawk from the Observatory has an additional effect. The bearer suffers no harm in temperatures as cold as −20 degrees Fahrenheit or as warm as 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This property is lost if the scroll is used or transcribed into a spellbook. The following items were found and given to the patron.
The flame of this candle is not extinguished when immersed in water. It gives off light and heat like a normal candle. |

_Consumables: _Trinkets: To Aerin - A silver paintbrush. Its gold engraving may be changed with a thought. Avalon’s Gratitude You have rescued Tyris de Avalon from the clutches of the Unseelie Court. As a personal show of thanks, you have been granted an acre of land beside Avalon manor. This award has no mechanical benefits other than for roleplay purposes. Magical Gift of Training: Sylvan Language Proficiency Spending maddening days that felt like years in Reverie was a risk but not without its rewards. Having amused the archfey and her dark audience long enough, Sibyl has granted you a small understanding of the Fey and the Gloaming Court. By spending 50 downtime days, you may earn this language proficiency. Note: A character may only possess one magical gift from an archfey at a time; if another archfey grants a magical gift, the character must choose whether to accept the new gift (and pay the associated cost) and remove the old one, or decline the new gift. Harpers hired me to find Faris de Avalon. |
