The ritual is complete, his visage will draw in the scions of death from all around and build an army worthy of his might and glory. Now however is not the time, I must have patience, soon the Harvest Festival comes around again and the city will be packed with souls to witness the splendor of the Demon Lord of Undeath. I have completed a seal, words of power which will hold the ritual at bay until the time is right. Not long now… the grave beckons me, but not before I beckon it first… ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mistbourne was formed by a party of veteran adventurers on the banks of the Neverwinter River by the Bay of Mists. They lamented always being subject to the whims of the politically motivated factions and resolved to form their own network of adventurers and information gatherers with outposts across the realms. Like the branches and tributaries of the misty river flowing into distant far-off places, the Mistbourne seek to do good wherever their reach extends. While they always strive to grow bigger, they frequently work with those outside their organization with hopes that the best will join their ranks. At the top level the Mistbourne are still managed by an inner circle of retired adventurers who form The White Table. These wisened heroes dictate the direction of the organization and receive regular reports from their outposts and agents all over the realms. Adventuring outposts have been formed in all major cities and many smaller towns and rural locations, anywhere that danger lurks in the depths and heroic action is required. Meanwhile field agents can be found everywhere and anywhere that secrets must be uncovered. You may have even met one today and not even known. Where adventure beckons, they will be there to answer! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Arver Stoutbarrel, toter Halbling nachbar. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Loot: 50gp 1x spell scroll of summon undead 3rd level ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arver's Ring (Ring of Mind Shielding) Ring, uncommon (requires attunement) While wearing this ring, you are immune to magic that allows other creatures to read your thoughts, determine whether you are lying, know your alignment, or know your creature type. Creatures can telepathically communicate with you only if you allow it. You can use an action to cause the ring to become invisible until you use another action to make it visible, until you remove the ring, or until you die. If you die while wearing the ring, your soul enters it, unless it already houses a soul. You can remain in the ring or depart for the afterlife. As long as your soul is in the ring, you can telepathically communicate with any creature wearing it. A wearer can't prevent this telepathic communication. Special: Arver died while wearing this ring and has not yet departed from it to join the afterlife. Instead he has remained to try and exert his influence. The ring has the Wicked minor property. When the bearer is presented with an opportunity to act in a selfish or malevolent way, the item heightens the bearer’s urge to do so. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Story Award: Mist Sworn Earned by any characters who completed the mission. A member of the Mistbourne has invited you to join their ranks. Should you accept their offer you gain a small pin, signet ring or pendant (your choice) that bears the symbol of the Mistbourne. Once per day you may touch your membership token and cause yourself to be enveloped in a thin cloud of mist that extends 5ft around you in all directions. Visibility is not affected by this mist, however it does make for a very dramatic entrance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
