Neid und Misstrauen wuchsen unter den konkurrierenden Gruppen, und nicht selten kam es zu blutigen Auseinandersetzungen. Eine dieser rivalisierenden Truppen schlug eines Tages einen gemeinsamen Auftrag vor: eine Karawane durch ein gefährliches Gebiet zu eskortieren. Sie behaupteten, alte Fehden begraben zu wollen. Als die Gray Wolfs sich zur Verteidigung formierten, wandten sich auch ihre vermeintlichen Verbündeten gegen sie. Eingekesselt von Feinden, fielen sie einer nach dem anderen.
