Ein Schneesturm überkam sie wie aus dem Nichts, ohne vorherige Anzeichen. Als Achath die riesige, eulenhafte Gestalt schemenhaft erkannt war es bereits zu spät. Um ihn herum fiel ein Gefährte nach dem anderen Tod zu Boden, wie eingefroren stand der junge Drachengeborene da, unfähig etwas zu unternehmen. In diesem Moment verstand er zum ersten Mal was echte Angst bedeutet. Als sich kurz darauf der Sturm legte war er der einzige der noch Stand. Durch den lichteren Schneefall erkannte er erneut die Silhouette, ein gehörner Eulenkopf starte ihn eindringlich an, bevor sich die Kreatur zum gehen wandte. Eine merkwürdige Mischung aus furch und Anerkennung überfiel Achath als er an such hinunter schaute, der Körper halb erfroren, sein Schild vollständig mit Eis bedeckt und dem Symbol einer Sechs-zackigen Schneeflocke hineingeritzt...
