We get to see Juiblex through a portal to the Abyss, fight some nasty oozes. Then four armored vampires and two vampire casters (that's 6 CR 15 foes). Fattening up for the finale.

This is how the DM and other party members wanted to run the campaign, so OK

DM wanted several massively buffed encounters vs. threatening party with slow attrition. So we got 3 nycaloths, then 4 erinyes, then a host of 6 trolls and 7-8 orc chiefs with no rest. And insane XP.

Buy 150 gp material for shadow of moil after game. Then (ironically) decide against taking the spell until level 9.

Get possessed by Trickster God Papazotl. It's Gerald's pact mentor. Gain the following flaws: "Bow before no one." and "I expect others to do as I command." I haven't talked to Emily about Gerald not seeing "Bow before no one" as a flaw. Gain the following perks: can't be surprised, advantage on wisom checks, never take damage from falling. Also get an amulet of health for as long as I'm in temple. Need to ask Emily how my flaw combines with trying to manipulate and deceive others.

Make deal w/ red wizards to get captive allies back. Get Geas-ed. Fill obligation quickly. Spell ends. Red wizards die ~20 minutes later. Yuan-ti cultists are definitely next. End session w/ 1 of 2 slots, full HP, 9 THP.

Get mage spell book. Realize after game that I have played Gerald as more neutral than chaotic neutral so I change that on the sheet.

The trickster god Papazotl (represented by an Eblis) appears in Gerald's dreams after his first night in Omu. Set up as a way to make a more specific devil patron. I went out of my way to tell Emily that Gerald wouldn't pick an animal, he'd get picked. Then I rolled a d10 and got a 10, insisting on dealer's choice.
