Switch Dave from being a gladiator to a charlatan dice cheat ("Halflings are just lucky!"). Gladiator was too on the nose. I wanted a multiple personality vibe. Ubtao could have easily revealed a path for Dave that he'd lie and say he kind of completed.

Forgot to take equipment from gladiator background, just gp. Take charlatan stuff. I don't see Dave being smart enough to use elaborate disguises or forge documents so he has the tools (bought forgery kit), but he's not proficient in them.

Unlock +1 chain mail, goggles of night, stone of good luck, ring of protection, ring of spell storing w/ 2 mirror image. Everyone at the table forgot award and heavily underestimated it before looking it up.
