Saltmarsh Downtime Activity: Buying and Selling Magic Items. Xendros has taken on a business partnership with Fai Chen. She will gladly facilitate trades and sell magic items, but is unable to purchase magic items from the characters outright.

To purchase randomly-rolled magic items characters must pay gold according to the chart below and 10 downtime days for Xendros’s services. The DM must make the roll for the randomly-determined items. Any character that pays the gold and downtime costs may keep any of the items Xendro’s finds for them.

To purchase a specific item the character must pay gold according to the chart below and 30 downtime days for Xendros’s services.

Xendros is unable to locate any magic items that grant a permanent stat boost. AS this is a downtime activity found in an adventure it can only be performed once per character.

Story Award: Deal with Dawn’s Beacon (You’ve allowed the artifact called Dawn’s Beacon to place you under and extremely powerful enchantment. At some point in the future, if you find yourself in the presence of the Xanathar, you must attempt to kill the creature. This
enchantment doesn’t take full effect until you reach 9th level. So, between 1st and 8th level this enchantment doesn’t compel you to action. Evidently, Dawn’s Beacon wants you to have a chance of success.

When this condition has been fulfilled and if you find yourself in the presence of this creature, you must attempt to kill it immediately. Each round you choose not to attack the Xanathar you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw DC 17 or take 3d10 psychic damage, or half as much on a successful save. This enchantment is only dispelled if you succeed at your task, or if you’re the recipient of a wish spell.)

Story Award: Glory before Goodwill (You chose to put personal glory above saving a villager of Parnast that was in need. Until you spend 10 downtime days repairing your reputation with the village, you have disadvantage on all Charisma ability checks and are charged 50% higher rate for all goods and services, except at the Golden Tankard, where Raggnar understands that tough decisions must occasionally be made)
