Thayan Headband (Hidden Message Hat of Wizardry) Common true
Golden threads upon a ruby-red bandana pick out the phrase “All Thay, All Day” in fancy stitching. This cone-shaped hat is adorned with moons and stars. While you are wearing it, you gain the following benefits. Spellcasting Focus. You can use the hat as a Spellcasting Focus for your Wizard spells. Unknown Spell. As a Magic action, you can try to cast a cantrip that you don’t know. The cantrip must be on the Wizard spell list and have a casting time of an action, and you make a DC 10 Intelligence (Arcana) check. On a successful check, you cast the spell. On a failed check, the spell fails, and the action used to cast the spell is wasted. In either case, you can’t use this property again until you finish a Long Rest. Hidden Message. A message is hidden somewhere on the item. It might be visible only at a certain time of the year, under the light of one phase of the moon, or in a specific location.
Ebon Lash (Language Lash of Immolation: Thayan) whip Rare true
Curls of flame gild the lines of this darkly glowing whip. The handle of this dark leather whip bears the fire rune, and embers dance around the whip’s tail. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, and on a hit, the whip deals an extra 1d6 fire damage. When you score a critical hit with an attack using this whip, the target also has the restrained condition until the start of your next turn, as fiery bands lash around the target. Invoking the Rune. When you make an attack with the whip and hit, you can use your reaction to invoke the whip’s rune. Doing so increases the extra fire damage dealt by the whip to 2d6. Once the rune has been invoked, it can’t be invoked again until the next dawn. Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it. Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet. Language. The bearer can speak and understand a language of the DM’s choice while the item is on the bearer’s person. (Thayan)
