When a gem is used, the surrounding wood closes around it like an eyelid. When found, the helm has 6 diamonds, 5 rubies, 17 fire opals, and 34 opals.

The flats of the blade act like windows onto a night sky with blinking stars and a large viridian sphere shifting slowly in different directions. Three sluggisch, green tentacles protrude from one end of the blade, acting as its guard and grip. The light the blade produces is green in color, and emitted from the viridian sphere.

Many who fought in Koart and O'Malley during the invasion of Caer Corwell recalled seeing Captain Conwirdin wearing this cobalt arm to swing his blade expertly. There was no sign of the Captain afterward.
