You can speak the carpet's command word as an action to make the carpet hover and fly. It moves according to your spoken directions, provided that you are within 30 feet of it.

A carpet can carry up to twice the weight shown on the table, but it flies at half speed if it carries more than its normal capacity.

This book contains coordination and balance exercises, and its words are charged with magic. If you spend 48 hours over a period of 6 days or fewer studying the book's contents and practicing its guidelines, your Dexterity score increases by 2, as does your maximum for that score. The manual then loses its magic, but regains it in a century.

That character now has a either a animal companion or pet that has the D&D 50th Anniversary logo (see back of PH2024) as either a pattern in the fur, feathers or scales or a tattoo on their skin. This acts as if it is a Lifewell Tattoo that the creature has attuned.

The tattoo does not come off and cannot be transfered. If the creature dies and is raised the tattoo is no longer present.
