| This large round wooden shield is dark brown, with a black iron rim and a black shield boss. It is decorated with two entwined red serpents, each holding a bundle of broken arrows in their mouths. The shield is surprisingly light and floats on water. You gain a +2 bonus to AC against ranged attacks while you wield this shield. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC. In addition, whenever an attacker makes a ranged attack against a target within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to become the target of the attack instead. A shield is made from wood or metal and is carried in one hand. Wielding a shield increases your Armor Class by 2. You can benefit from only one shield at a time.
